ARE YOU EATING TO NOURISH… OR JUST TO FILL UP?

We eat when we're hungry.
We eat when we're busy.
We eat because it's convenient.
Sometimes we even eat without really thinking about what our body is receiving.
But food does more than fill an empty stomach.

It provides the nutrients our bodies need to function, grow, repair and stay healthy. A healthy diet is built around variety, balance, moderation and adequacy not perfection.

So before your next meal, ask yourself:
🥗 Am I getting variety?
🌾 Am I choosing nourishing foods often enough?
🍎 Am I giving my body the nutrients it needs?
⚖️ Is my plate balanced?

And remember, nourishing yourself doesn't have to mean expensive “health foods.”
Locally available foods can be part of a healthy, balanced diet too. What matters is the overall pattern of what you eat, not whether every single meal is perfect.

🌿 Don't just fill your plate. Nourish your body.

WHEN SHOULD YOU SEEK HELP?

You don't have to wait until everything feels overwhelming.

Sometimes the signs are quieter:
You can't seem to switch your mind off.
Worry is affecting your sleep.
You're finding it harder to concentrate.
You're avoiding things you normally do.

You're struggling to keep up with work, school or everyday responsibilities.
Or you're simply thinking:
“I don't feel like myself anymore.”

Anxiety is something many people experience from time to time. But when it becomes difficult to manage or starts interfering with everyday life, relationships, work or school, it may be time to talk to a health professional.

And seeking help doesn't mean you're weak.

It means you've recognised that you deserve support.

You don't have to wait for things to get worse before you reach out.

Sometimes, asking for help is the first step towards feeling like yourself again.

💬 What do you think makes it difficult for people to ask for help?

Let's talk about it.

Your mind doesn't always scream for help. Sometimes, it whispers.
And the whispers can be easy to dismiss.

“I'm just tired.”
“I've got a lot going on.”
“I'll feel better tomorrow.”
“I'm just overthinking.”
“It's nothing.”
But sometimes, those small changes deserve our attention.
You may notice that you're:

😴 Sleeping differently
🧠 Worrying more than usual
😮‍💨 Finding it harder to relax
😤 Feeling more irritable or constantly on edge
🎯 Struggling to concentrate
🚪 Avoiding things you normally do
💭 Finding it difficult to switch your mind off

These experiences can happen for many reasons, and they don't automatically mean you have an anxiety disorder. But noticing changes in how you feel, think, behave, or function can be an important first step toward understanding what you need.

🌿 You don't have to wait until you're overwhelmed before you check in with yourself.

Pause.
Breathe.
Ask yourself:
“How am I really doing?”

And if something doesn't feel right or continues to interfere with your everyday life, talking to someone you trust or a health professional can be a good next step.

ANXIETY AWARENESS: CHECK IN WITH YOURSELF. CHECK IN WITH OTHERS.

When we talk about anxiety, we often think about recognising the signs in other people.
But sometimes, the first person we need to check in on is ourselves.

We get so used to asking:
"How is everyone doing?"
"Is everything okay?"
"Does anyone need anything?"
Yet we rarely pause to ask:
"How am I really doing?"

Maybe you've been more tired than usual.
Maybe your mind has been busy long after the day has ended.
Maybe you've been more irritable, distracted, or simply saying "I'm fine" because explaining how you really feel seems like too much.

Sometimes anxiety doesn't arrive as panic.
Sometimes it quietly shows up as feeling like you're just not yourself.
That's why checking in matters.
Not to diagnose yourself.
Not to assume something is wrong.
But to pay attention.

And once you've checked in with yourself, check in with someone else too.
Send the message.
Make the call.
Ask:
"How are you really doing?"
You don't need to have the perfect words.
You don't need to fix everything.

Sometimes, simply being present and listening can remind someone that they're not alone.

This week, check in with yourself. Then check in with someone else.
A small question can open an important conversation.
When was the last time you paused and honestly asked yourself, "How am I really doing?"

“I’m just not feeling myself today…”

We've all said it.

Maybe you're more tired than usual.
Maybe your mind won't slow down.
Maybe you're unusually irritable.
Maybe you can't concentrate.

Maybe you don't feel like talking to anyone.
And sometimes, you simply can't explain why.

We often picture anxiety as panic, racing hearts, shaking, or an overwhelming wave of fear.

But not all anxiety looks like panic.

Sometimes it looks like:
😴 “Why am I so tired?”
🧠 “Why can't I switch my brain off?”
😤 “Why is everything irritating me today?”
🎯 “Why can't I concentrate?”
🚪 “I just don't feel like being around anyone.”
😮‍💨 “I can't seem to relax.”

These can be signs that something is affecting how you're feeling, thinking, behaving or functioning and anxiety can be one possible explanation. Anxiety can affect people in different ways, and it's not always easy to recognise when it is behind a change in how we feel or act.

So the next time you catch yourself saying,

“I'm just not feeling myself today…”
perhaps pause for a moment.

Don't immediately dismiss it.
Check in with yourself.
What's changed?
What have I been carrying?
What might I need right now?

🌿 Awareness isn't about diagnosing yourself.

It's about learning to listen to yourself.

💬 Have you ever had a “I'm just not feeling myself today” kind of day? What did it feel like for you?
