💚 A Wonderful Day of Learning, Connection and Care 💚

Survival CPR had the privilege of being part of the Genesis Maternity Clinic Open Day on Saturday, 1 August 2026. 👶🏽🍼

Sr Mary-Ann enjoyed meeting and connecting with parents, guardians and parents to be, while sharing helpful information about our CPR and Caregiver Courses. 🤍

It was such a wonderful and fulfilling day, helping families understand just how important it is to attend a Baby and Child CPR and First Aid Course. Knowing what to do in an emergency can give caregivers greater confidence and may help save a precious little life. 🫶🏽🚑

🦠 The Hidden Life of Towels: Is Your “Clean” Towel Really Clean?

We use towels after getting clean, but once they become damp, they can quickly become the perfect environment for bacteria, fungi and mould to grow.

It’s not just what’s on the towel that’s concerning. As mould develops, it releases microscopic spores into the air. Every time you use or shake out a damp towel, you may inhale these spores. While most healthy people won’t become ill, they can trigger allergies, worsen asthma and irritate the respiratory system, particularly in children, older adults and people with weakened immune systems.

Towels can also spread bacteria and fungal skin infections, especially when shared between family members.

💡 Keep your towels hygienic:�
✔ Hang them fully open so they dry completely between uses.�
✔ Wash bath towels after 3–4 uses and hand towels every 2–3 days.�
✔ Wash at 60°C whenever the care label allows.�
✔ If a towel smells musty or sour, it’s time to wash it—or replace it if the smell persists after washing.

Good hygiene isn’t just about washing your hands it’s also about the everyday items we use.

❤️ *Lifesaving Skills for the Singatha Centre Team* ❤️

The teachers and assistants from *Singatha Centre* recently completed a hands-on *Survival School CPR and First Aid Course*, presented by *Sr Esté*.

During the course, the team learned and practised important emergency skills, including:

🫀 Adult, child and infant CPR
🚑 How to respond during a medical emergency
🩹 Basic first aid procedures
👶 Emergency care for babies and children
🧠 How to stay calm, assess the situation and act quickly
💪 Practical skills that build confidence and preparedness
