The diaphragm.
This dome-shaped muscle sits just below your lungs π« And it never gets a day off π€
Here is how it works:
Inhale / Breath in = the diaphragm contracts and flattens downward, allowing your chest cavity to expand and air to fill the lungs.
Exhale / Breath out = the diaphragm relaxes and rises, shrinking the chest cavity and pushing air out of the lungs
No pump, no motor. Just a muscle doing its job 20 000 times a day ππ½
