Women's health changes as we move through different stages of life and so should the conversations we have about prevention.

During our recent return to 702, Dr Mandy Mpatlanyane, Medical Doctor at Myclinic, spoke about the importance of understanding which health screenings may become relevant at different stages of a woman's life.

From cervical-health screening and breast-health conversations to monitoring blood glucose and other health risks, prevention is not about following one checklist for every woman. Your age, family history, medical history and individual risk all matter.

The important thing is not to wait until something feels wrong before starting the conversation.

Speak to your healthcare professional about the preventative care and screening that may be appropriate for your stage of life.

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY | IT TAKES A VILLAGE

When we say that young people are our future, we also have to ask ourselves what we are doing today to help them reach that future.
For some children, the barriers are things many of us can easily overlook.
Going to school without proper shoes.
Managing a period without enough sanitary products.
Growing up in a household experiencing food insecurity.
These may look like small things from the outside, but they can affect dignity, participation and a young person's experience of school.

That is why Kasi Games for a Cause was never just about one Mandela Day event.

It was about bringing the village together; businesses, healthcare professionals, schools, community organisations, volunteers and families — and turning collective participation into practical impact.

So far, together we have mobilised:
🩳 2,600 pairs of school shoes
🏫 More than 15 schools reached
🩸 Just under 7,000 sanitary pads
🥫 40 food packs

And the work continues.
Today, as we mark International Youth Day, our message to our young people is simple:

We see your potential.
But we also recognise that potential needs an environment in which it can grow.
Our responsibility as the village is not simply to tell young people to be resilient.
It is to build communities and systems that give them a fair opportunity to thrive.

Happy International Youth Day from Myclinic Cares.

Myclinic celebrates Women's month.🤍
This month, we're recognising the women who make this clinic what it is. The mothers who show up for every check-up, the daughters who bring their own mothers in for care, and the female staff who show up daily to make sure our patients are seen and looked after.
Women's health is ongoing, not a once-off. If it's been a while since your last check-up, consider this your
sign.

There was something special about returning to the 702 studios.

Our last visit featured Dr Nhlamulo Hlungwane, and this time, the spotlight shifted to Dr Mandy Mpatlanyane, representing Myclinic Healthcare in an important conversation on women’s health and preventative care.

At Myclinic, this reflects who we are. We believe healthcare is built by strong teams, where different voices and expertise come together to educate, empower and improve health outcomes.

On Medical Matters, hosted by Siyabonga M***a, Dr Mandy discussed the essential annual health screenings every woman should prioritise, from Pap smears and HPV testing to mammograms and routine health checks and why early detection remains one of the most powerful tools in protecting long-term health.

These conversations matter because prevention saves lives. Healthcare is not only about treating illness; it’s about helping people stay well.

A sincere thank you to the 702 team for continuing to create space for meaningful public health conversations and for partnering with Myclinic to make trusted healthcare information more accessible to our communities.

No staged photos. Just faces, hands, and moments, the real texture of what it takes to show up for a community.

Today we're not posing our volunteers, we're telling their stories. Because behind every successful activation is someone who chose to be there.

Thank you. 🤍

Safe spaces don't happen accidentally.

They're built by the community patrol, the volunteers, and the referees who show up quietly, every time, so everyone else can play, gather, and belong without a second thought.

We're honouring the people who make safety a daily practice, not an afterthought. Mavume Protection and Security
