Some people cling to painful thoughts because they’re afraid that without them they would stop fighting for peace.
But peace that depends on inner war isn’t peace.

Reality doesn’t take sides.
It produces everything: light and dark, wisdom and confusion, saints and people arguing in comment sections. The mind loves categories — good, bad, right, wrong — but reality keeps moving regardless.
The place the mind fears most, the unknown, the empty space where nothing is certain, is the womb of life. Sit with it long enough and something always emerges.
Maturity is standing inside reality without arguing with it.
Pain can appear in the body. The mind adds the commentary: this shouldn’t be happening. That commentary creates suffering. The body was simply sending information.
Attention reorganizes experience. When attention lands in the present moment, the drama tends to leave the building.
Clarity grows when thoughts are questioned instead of believed.

The practice is simple: stay curious about what’s actually happening — and take a headache tablet when appropriate.

"When a cat falls out of a tree, it lets go of itself. The cat becomes completely relaxed, and lands lightly on the ground. But if a cat were about to fall out of a tree and suddenly make up its mind that it didn’t want to fall, it would become tense and rigid, and would be just a bag of broken bones upon landing.
In the same way, it is the philosophy of the Tao that we are all falling off a tree, at every moment of our lives. As a matter of fact, the moment we were born, we were kicked off a precipice, and we are falling, and there is nothing that can stop it.
So instead of living in a state of chronic tension, and clinging to all sorts of things that are actually falling with us because the whole world is impermanent, be like a cat."
