💛 Yellow Fever Vaccination – Your Passport to Safe Travel

Travelling abroad? Many countries require proof of Yellow Fever vaccination for entry — especially if you’re coming from, or transiting through, a risk area.

🌍 Countries where Yellow Fever vaccination may be required include:

Africa:

• Ghana
• Nigeria
• Uganda
• Tanzania
• Rwanda
• Angola

South America:
• Brazil
• Peru
• Colombia
• Bolivia
• Ecuador

👉 Some countries (even those not at risk) require the vaccine if you’ve travelled through an affected country — so it’s important to check your specific itinerary.

✈️ What You Need to Know:

• Entry Requirement: Some countries require proof of vaccination (Yellow Card)
• Long-lasting Protection: One vaccine usually provides lifelong immunity
• Carry Your Certificate: You may be asked to show it at borders

Planning a bush getaway, hike, or family picnic this long weekend?

While you’re packing snacks and sunscreen, don’t forget about one tiny but important travel risk — ticks.

Ticks are common in grassy, bushy, and wildlife areas across South Africa, and their bites can sometimes lead to infections like tick bite fever.

Here’s how to stay safe:

✔️ Wear light-coloured clothing so ticks are easier to spot
✔️ Tuck pants into socks when walking in long grass
✔️ Use insect repellent on exposed skin
✔️ Do a full body check after outdoor activities (especially behind ears, knees & scalp)
✔️ Shower soon after being outdoors

Found a tick?
Remove it gently with tweezers (don’t squeeze the body), clean the area, and keep an eye out for symptoms like fever, headache, or a rash.

If you’re unsure or feeling unwell after a bite, it’s always best to get medical advice.

At TravelDoc, we help you stay healthy wherever your travels take you.
