Protect yourself, protect your future. 🫶🏽 Condoms are a simple and effective way to reduce the risk of syphilis and other s*xually transmitted infections, while also helping prevent unintended pregnancy. Make safer s*x a priority, use a condom every time and encourage your partner to do the same.

The AHF is calling for urgent action on the growing debt crisis across the Commonwealth.

With around 1 in 3 Commonwealth countries facing debt distress, governments are spending vital resources on debt repayments instead of healthcare, education and social protection.

Debt is not just an economic issue. It’s a public health, development and security issue.

On 18 August 2026, AHF, in collaboration with the District AIDS Council, conducted Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) training with Life Orientation educators and Learner Support Agents at Mandlenkosi Secondary School.

The training aimed to equip educators with skills to integrate CSE into Life Orientation lessons and better support learners. Topics included SRHR, HIV prevention, psychosocial support, growth and development, and child and teenage pregnancy prevention.

Educators emphasised the importance of including boys in CSE initiatives, highlighting that the boy child is often excluded despite being central to many challenges faced at schools.

Empowering both girls and boys with knowledge, skills and support is key to building healthier and safer communities.

Syphilis can be silent — but the risks are real.

In the early stages, syphilis may cause a painless sore or no noticeable symptoms at all. That means you could have it, pass it on, and not even know. Without treatment, syphilis can progress and cause serious complications affecting the brain, heart and other parts of the body.

Condoms can significantly reduce your risk of syphilis and other s*xually transmitted infections (STIs), especially when used correctly and consistently.

The AHF Gauteng team proudly supported two impactful events in our continued efforts to increase and improve condom uptake across communities.

The first team supported activities at the Gauteng Wellness Center, a specialised clinic serving key populations, particularly s*x workers and the LGBTIQ+ community.

The second team joined the MEC for Health’s “Taking Health Services to Informal Settlements” campaign, bringing essential health services and prevention information closer to communities.

Together, we distributed an incredible 23,040 condoms! 🎉👏🏽

Every condom distributed is an opportunity to promote safer s*x, prevent HIV and STIs, and empower individuals to make informed choices about their health.
