🚫 MYTH: “Rest is best for tendinopathy”

✅ FACT: Complete rest can actually make tendon pain worse in the long run.

Here’s why 👇

* Tendons need load to heal, not avoidance of it
* Too much rest weakens the tendon and surrounding muscles
* The right amount of controlled, progressive loading stimulates the tendon to repair and strengthen
* This is why exercise-based rehab (not rest) is the gold standard for tendinopathy recovery

The key is finding the right type and amount of load for your stage of recovery which why every rehabilitation programme should be tailored to the individual.

Struggling with ongoing tendon pain? Rest isn’t the answer.. the right movement plan is 💪

Exercise isn’t just about fitness or weight loss. It’s one of the best investments you can make in your long-term health.

Regular physical activity reduces the risk of chronic disease, boosts mental wellbeing, and helps us stay healthier and more independent as we age.

Here’s what the research shows regular exercise can do:

🔹 Reduce risk of early death by up to 30% vs being inactive
🔹 Lower risk of heart disease, stroke and Type 2 diabetes
🔹 Improve blood sugar control for those living with diabetes
🔹 Boost mood and sleep, reduce anxiety and depression
🔹 Maintain muscle, bone health and balance — reducing falls as we age
🔹 Improve quality of life for people managing chronic conditions

The best part? You don’t have to be an athlete to get these benefits.

WHO recommends adults aim for:
→ 150–300 min of moderate activity per week, OR
→ 75–150 min of vigorous activity per week

Every walk. Every session. Every bit of movement counts.

Your future health starts with the choices you make today. 💪

Strength training for youngsters is often misunderstood 🏋️

One of the most common myths is that strength training stunts a child’s growth. The truth is that appropriately supervised strength training has been shown to be safe and beneficial for children and adolescents.

When introduced correctly, strength training can help young athletes:

✅ Build stronger muscles, bones and joints
✅ Improve movement skills, coordination and balance
✅ Reduce the risk of injury in sport and everyday activity
✅ Improve speed, power and athletic performance
✅ Develop confidence, discipline and resilience
✅ Establish healthy exercise habits that can last a lifetime

The key is ensuring that training is age-appropriate, properly supervised and focused on movement quality rather than simply lifting heavier weights.

Strong bodies. Strong minds. Strong futures.
