Mom Guilt. Statistically 90-94% of all mothers experience mom guilt to varying degrees and in different ways.

You are not alone in experiencing mom guilt.

You care so much, but it can compromise your ability to show up as best you can for yourself and your children.

Mom guilt is comparison; it is common to compare ourselves as women, but it isn't healthy.

It's okay to admit you experience guilt around mothering. This awareness is important to assist you in learning to notice your feelings around mom guilt and what makes your feelings of mom guilt more intense.

Two things you can start doing to lessen the frequency and intensity of your mom guilt:

πŸ’« Stop following "super moms" on social media. Yes, it can be soothing to distract yourself from the reality of your life by watching their lives but their lives aren't real. You aren't being kind to yourself by holding yourself to unrealistic standards of perfection.

πŸ’« Reframe what being a good mom means to you. Yes, every day looks different and is different, which can feel like you are not only walking on shifting sand but drowning in it, too. Extend yourself compassion. Give yourself grace and space while embracing this messy and magical mothering phase of your life. You, too are becoming while your children grow.

Remember mom guilt can be any of the following and many more: πŸ’« Feeling conflicted about formula feeding and breast feeding
πŸ’« Feeling reluctant to return full-time employment or become a home-based mother
πŸ’« Feeling uncertain about your choice of school or curriculum
πŸ’« Feeling indecisive about when to let your child start dating
πŸ’« Feeling frustrated every day when your child's lunch comes back uneaten

What are you feeling guilty about?

If you are struggling with finding a suitable therapist, this is for you...

Finding a mature, experienced, trauma-informed therapist for yourself or your child can be challenging.

It can be quite overwhelming.
Where do I begin?
Where do I even find a good therapist?
Will I feel comfortable?

It is essential that you feel comfortable with your choice of therapist.

Finding a therapist isn't a one size fits all kind of solution; you or your child won't necessarily feel a connection with a therapist because your child's doctor or teacher recommended the therapist.

This is a very personal decision, and it is for this reason that I offer 15-minute discovery calls before clients big or small begin a therapy journey with me.

✨ Observe how you feel when in session with your therapist.
✨ Ask yourself if you felt heard by your therapist.
✨ If you feel that your sessions are suited to you as an individual.

Let me know if you found this helpful...
And DM me if you have questions or would like to book a 15 minute discovery call 🩷

Hi, I'm Anne.

πŸ’Ÿ I'm a mother to an amazing teen.

πŸ’Ÿ I qualified as a teacher and enjoyed extensive experience in special needs education.

πŸ’Ÿ I studied psychology and went on to train as a counsellor in a variety of healing modalities; one of my favourites being play therapy.

πŸ’Ÿ I trained in energy medicine and find the insight and understanding I gained invaluable in my work with trauma.

πŸ’Ÿ I'm fascinated by human beings and their innate ability to heal. The privilege to journey alongside people as they heal; humbles me every single time πŸ™Œ

πŸ’Ÿ I love animals but dogs are by far my favourite.

πŸ’Ÿ I'm an avid tea drinker consuming copious amounts daily.

πŸ’Ÿ I love to dance anytime, anywhere.

πŸ’Ÿ I often think in the lines of a song, poem or story and end up singing or reciting the line. Anyone else do this πŸ‘‹

πŸ’Ÿ I'm a survivor of religious trauma and harm as a result I have an insider's understanding of high-control groups and people and how to navigate this environment.

πŸ’Ÿ Now I am a thriver ready to assist others with the necessary tools and skills.

πŸ’Ÿ I'm passionate about the mother-child relationship; fostering it, nurturing it, developing it and re-developing it.

Follow to learn more about mothering through trauma, healing from high control groups or people and gain some education, awareness and inspiration for navigating life's challenges.

You are worthy of rest, safety, ease and pleasure... just as you are.

Give yourself permission to take a quiet moment with your warm drink.
Gift yourself time to take a few deep breaths.
Slow down for you.
Be still.
Rest.

Your body will thank you, your mind will thank you and your soul will thank you.

Are you allowing yourself moments to rest and just be?

How can you bring more into your day, week, month?

You are that woman.
