Options Care Centre Knysna What do we do?

Options Care Centre, as part of the Youth for Christ Knysna ministry, creates a safe space where men and women facing crises make informed and personal decisions. Counselling of pregnant mothers, rape victims, abused and HIV positive woman

Creating Awareness through local clinics that a support structure exists in Knysna

Offer support groups for pregnant and/or single moms and teenagers

Basic c

ounselling training for those wishing to volunteer and assist YFC’s counselling team

Sexual Integrity courses for teens

Various preventative talks at schools

Family Matters’ Programme, in partnership with the Department of Social Development. This is all about the caring and supporting of families in the broader Knysna community A hundred family per year are targeted and this involves home visits, parenting workshops, fatherhood workshops, recreational activities for the children – all to strengthen and improve family ties where any form of dysfunction exists

We tackled one of the most important—and often most difficult—topics: s*x. Together, we created a safe space for honest conversations, thoughtful questions, and biblical truth.

We explored God's purpose for s*x as a beautiful gift intended for marriage, while also talking about self-worth, healthy boundaries, respect, and the importance of making wise choices.

We're incredibly proud of these young women for their courage to engage, ask questions, and grow. These conversations matter because understanding our worth and God's design today helps shape the choices we make tomorrow. 🌸🥰

Another beautiful reminder of God's perfect provision! 💛

As our storeroom began running low, God once again provided—this time through the generous team from Standard Bank - South Africa in Plettenberg Bay and Knysna.

In the true spirit of Madiba Day, they donated much-needed baby items for our weekly maternity ward visits and spent their Saturday serving alongside the Options Care Centre and Thando House teams in both the maternity and paediatric wards.

Madiba Day reminds us that small acts of kindness can make a lasting difference. It was a privilege to share God's love with these precious families and remind them that they are deeply loved and valued.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special. ❤️

Just a few snaps from our time serving coffee and tea at the !☕️🏃‍♂️
It was a very cold start to the morning, but our hot drinks, friendly smiles, and laughter kept everyone warm.🥶❤️‍🔥

It was such a privilege to serve the runners, supporters, and visitors who stopped by for a warm drink and a friendly chat. Thank you to everyone who supported us and helped make the morning so memorable.
One of our favourite moments? Seeing one of our very own give the hot water urn a big hug just to soak up a little extra warmth! 😂❤️

Our final boys' session for the term, we spoke about the importance of responsibility. We encouraged the boys to understand that being responsible is not only about what they do, but also about the choices they make, the way they treat others, and the example they set every day.

It was inspiring to see them engage with the topic and reflect on how they can grow into young men of character, integrity, and purpose. We pray that they will continue to make wise decisions, take ownership of their actions, and become leaders who positively impact those around them.💥💪🤩

As we wrapped up the term with our support group, we ended by exploring the topic of relationships—what it means to build healthy, meaningful connections with others and how our choices shape the relationships around us.

Most importantly, we focused on our relationship with God. We were reminded that every strong relationship begins with a strong foundation, and there is no better foundation than God's love. Through honest conversations, reflection, and encouragement, these teens were challenged to grow closer to Him, trust Him more deeply, and allow His love to guide their relationships with family, friends, and their community.

What a special way to end the term—being reminded that while relationships with others are important, our relationship with God is the one that strengthens and shapes them all. ❤️✝️

We had a wonderful conversation about relationships, growing up, and the feelings that often come with it. ❤️
We spoke about crushes and attraction, reminding our boys and girls that these feelings are completely normal and part of growing up. Together we reflected on the importance of focusing on themselves, their friendships, their faith, and their schoolwork during this season of life.
One of the biggest takeaways was that a boyfriend or girlfriend won't fill every longing in our hearts. There is so much value in enjoying your youth, growing into the person God created you to be, and trusting that there will be a right time for everything.
We're so proud of the honesty, maturity, and openness our young people showed during this discussion. 🌱✨

We had a wonderful session with the kids discussing the importance of healthy relationships. It was so encouraging to see them open up, share their thoughts, and ask meaningful questions. Through fun conversations and activities, we explored how kindness, respect, trust, and communication help us build strong relationships with our friends, family, and those around us.✨️❤️‍🩹😇
