One of the biggest misconceptions about breast reconstruction is that it is a single procedure with a single recovery.

For many women, reconstruction happens in stages. Planning, surgery, healing and sometimes additional procedures all form part of the journey.

Working alongside Dr Fathima Docrat, Specialist Breast Surgeon, and Dr Shahista Khan, Specialist Physician, Dr Jonel contributes her expertise as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon when reconstruction forms part of a patient’s treatment plan.

Together, the team considers each patient’s diagnosis, treatment needs, reconstructive options and personal circumstances to develop an individualised plan of care.

This collaborative approach is further supported by a trusted network of radiation oncologists, pathologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and dietitians.
