As South Africa commemorates 70 years since the historic 1956 Women’s March, the MEC extends special appreciation to women in healthcare whose dedication, compassion, and commitment continue to improve health outcomes and save lives every day.

DAY 2 || The Gauteng Department of Health is hosting the 13th Midwifery, Obstetric, Neonatal and Child Conference (MONEC), a three-day gathering of healthcare professionals focused on advancing maternal, neonatal and child health outcomes.

The conference programme covers critical topics including the status of midwifery-led ultrasound services in Gauteng, management of hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, contributory factors to maternal deaths related to Caesarean section births, barriers to accessing antenatal care among adolescents at primary healthcare facilities, newborn hearing screening, and developmental supportive care for neonates, among others.
