Breaking cycles isn’t easy.
But you try every day.
Some days, you still lose your cool. You get triggered. You revert back to those default reactions you were parented with. You feel ashamed and guilty. You sound just like them and those same stories you’re trying to rewrite creep their way back into your mind. “Spare the rod, spoil the child”.
On those days it’s so HARD and you wonder if all the work you’re doing is even worth it. Will it ever be enough? Does it even matter?
But then, you take a deep breathe. The deepest breath you’ve taken all day.
You try again.
Because when you look into your child’s eyes, you see your WHY there too.
It’s worth it. Keep going.
