Today, Dr. L Venter and Dr. B Moodie are working together on a specialised 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲, at Pasteur Eye Hospital.

A corneal neurotization is a surgical technique designed to 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 to a cornea that has lost normal sensation.

The procedure brings together different 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲, with each specialist playing a specific role in helping create a new pathway for nerve supply to reach the affected eye.
