What is an attachment stent? 🦷
An attachment stent is a custom-made template designed from the digital treatment plan. It fits over the patient's teeth and guides the precise placement of aligner attachments exactly where they are needed.
The teeth are prepared, composite is placed into the attachment wells within the stent, and the stent is seated onto the teeth. Once the composite is cured, the stent is removed, leaving the attachments accurately positioned according to the treatment plan.
This process helps ensure predictable tooth movement, improved aligner retention, and efficient transfer of the digital design to the clinical setting.
