‼️requires resection of thin unstable skin and removal of plate
‼️then using a free flap for cover

‼️Skin and plate removed
👉 squishy area….fibrous tissue overlying the 🧠

‼️Preparing the recipient neck vessels for flap anastomosis

This is a massive scalp defect that resulted from resection of a recurrent malignant skin lesion.
👉 we used an “old school” method in this case
👉 it requires a staged recon approach
👉 a large scalp rotation advancement flap
👉 the scalp does not stretch … it requires “scoring” to release the thick connective tissue layer.
🔅similar to scoring a section of ribs of pork belly
👉 the donor area was skin grafted ( temporary measure)
👉 future recon plan: placement of a tissue expander to stretch the scalp and resect the skin grafted area to allow coverage of the entire cranium with hair bearing scalp.

🧠 We are excited to share some more of our latest work in the field of Neuro degenerative diseases.

🧠 This was for a patient with Huntington’s disease
❗️ key signs include involuntary jerky movements called chorea, trouble with thinking and memory, and sudden changes in mood or personality

🧠 We performed a procedure called Deep Cervical Lympho- venous bypass (DcLVA) both sides of the neck as well as lymphovenous bypasses (LVA) in both lower limbs on 17/08/2026

🧠 To the best of our knowledge this is the first surgery (DcLVA) of this kind done for a patient with Huntington’s disease

🧠 Early results are promising.

Recent case : a young patient with Neurotrophic Keratopathy 👁️👁️

❗️this is losing the Trigeminal nerve supply to the cornea
❗️it causes loss of protective sensation, corneal ulceration and ultimately could lead to blindness
🔅we transfer a nerve graft to face to allow for new nerve endings to grow into the affected eye
🔅this restores sensation and allows the cornea to heal
🔅this procedure prevents blindness
