We are not so good at the moment.. I am living on the streets under a bridge in a tent next to a river.. With my son, partner and dog.. I moved to Middelburg, Mpumalanga, South Africa in September 2022, uprooted both my boys, to come to a 21 year old friendship, turned love affair... It was everything but, & I ended up having to send my youngest back to where we had come from..
I had lost my caregiver job, due to me dislocating my knee - as I was lifting my first quadriplegic patient onto a commode, and my knees just gave way.. I dropped my patient, & just like that, we lost our rental income and we were evicted and from our 3 bedroom and apartment. I have been struggling since October 2024 to find a stable Job.. I am a Jack of All trades, but in this town, automatically if you are living on the streets, it MUST be DRUGS..
Yes I admit I smoke w**d. It is the only thing that calms me.. And Drugs are expensive... W**d I can grow myself..
Since then, in August 2025 my partner lost his job as a car guard.. And it has now almost been a year since... We have been defamed & black balled here with a reputation we DID NOT Earn ourselves.. Pr******te (me), Dealer (my partner) and runner ( then 17 year old minor son)..
Because HOW could a caregiver, a car guard and a minor possibly have a 3 bedroom house place and a car, and eat and LIVE?! MUST BE THE DRUGS.. Right?!
By working our asses off, THAT'S why HOW!!
My Partner had not had ONE full day off for almost a year when working!! My caregiver job, paid rent, I had to work AWAY from my family in order to afford our life...
His daily cash, sometimes the R1500+ sometimes from 6am to 8pm without a break... My son also jumping in and car guarding with my partner. We didn't know, just how great, we had it.. 😔
This community has ruined our reputation.. We came here for a new beginning.. A clean slate.. But jealousy, cruelty and the absolute nonchalant reactions about violating a persons human rights, of this community are bone chilling for the homeless.. Even the police turn a blind eye when we are robbed or killed, as apparently its - & I quote - "When 'you people' get killed we look the other way.. It is TOO much paperwork, & No one will come to claim you when you are dead anyway." This 'GEM' of a police-woman was saying this to me as I was trying to report my phone stolen.. The MINUTE I mentioned the 'gangster' who took it straight out my hand, (last year he stole Phone #1 while I still thought we were friends & living in the same place the day after my birthday... 🤦🏻), she flipped & shut me down, not even reporting my stolen phone..
Gang stalking is real people.. I can testify to this.. Anyway. Moving on... That is just bits and pieces of the almost 2 year nightmare we have been living..
Now, I am Trying to get somebody to sponsor me a gel & acrylic nail sets, so I can get some type of income..
I can do nails. Rent a chair and privately.
We NEED to get up.. Financially it is a nightmare to afford the basics like a roof of and food. Even charging my phone is an issue, as you cannot possibly have a good quality phone when you're homeless here, it MUST be a STOLEN phone!! 🤦🏻 Fortunately I do have a my standards and my priorities!! Food shelter & communication and my quality of living Matters! We come from a good home we were raised well, so where else should my priorities lie?! My kids come first!
We haven't eaten properly in a long while, living on a prayer and handouts is the most horrific thing.. Begging every day for for scraps.. We are hungry and so sick with flu.. It is bitterly cold. We have a tent but it has been damaged by because.. If you are found by the 'law-enforcement', dag-patrollie, Or Titon, the little you have left of your life will be smashed & burned and you will be pepper-sprayed and attacked, not forgetting them possibly smashing your phone (cos they can record you & violate the POPI act, but you homeless piece of trash, how is it that you have a phone.. when you ask what the probable cause is at 2am for them to be there?! when you're just randomly being attacked, while you watch your life burn, or not cos of the teargas.. Just cos, how dare you be homeless?! Must be a criminal...
We Need meds.
I am afraid Daniel's flu will turn to pneumonia 😭 his chest gets worse every night.. 💔 we sleep next to a river in a tent.. It is so cold here at night and😒 just makes us sicker..
The clinic here has turned us away 3 times since last week.. The service delivery in this town is horrendous.. They are conveniently always too full when we arrive there, as we have to walk about15km there and back 😒 I have no strength. I am exhausted.
I am trying & fighting my hardest fight ever in 44 years.. My son was attacked last November.. We we supposed to leave! I had the cash.. The attack was racially motivated!! 12 grown ass cowards attacking a 17 year old, by luring him out for 3 days! He thought he is going to friends, he was attacked for something he had no part of!
His arm developed a Necrosis and he had to have an operation IN ANOTHER TOWN and I had to watch my child die a bit inside while I was signing a form saying they can AMPUTATE should be anything go wrong!!
He was to start a new Job on Monday as a waiter, they attacked him that Saturday and November, 30th..
That arm is STILL not healed, but we're getting there..
It has been so traumatic, we are now conditioned to sleep with Pangas and walk with knives..
Been robbed of everything we built up, solar-wise.. Shower bag, lights, my gas bottle to cook on and boil water with to bath.. My solar panels and controllers.. My mom's 22ct gold chain I inherited when she passed away in 2019... I have nothing left of value to sell to get away and out of this situation.. 😔💔 Seen my youngest once this year for 2 days.. He is thriving and thankfully he is living with an Earth Angel who treats him like her own.. 🙏🏻
She also helps me out from time to time..
So after my long essay, I am begging for some assistance. We currently as I post this need everything.. We really need assistance.
