Effective disease surveillance starts long before a sample reaches the laboratory.

In Cรดte d'Ivoire's Nawa region, health authorities, laboratory teams, postal partners, VillageReach and Tec4med are working together to strengthen sample transport from rural health facilities to the national public health laboratory.

Through improved training, stronger coordination and real-time monitoring technology, partners are improving visibility across the sample journey and helping ensure samples arrive in the right condition for testing.

Early results are encouraging: โœ… 95% of samples monitored during a recent transport phase arrived in acceptable condition โœ… Health workers have greater visibility into transport conditions โœ… Teams can identify and address handling issues before they become larger problems

Behind every sample is a patient waiting for answers. Strengthening transportation systems helps health authorities detect disease threats sooner and respond more effectively.
