🧠 Does a ketogenic diet improve brain function?

A recent study looked at healthy, sedentary adults (ages 25–45) following a ketogenic diet for just 4 weeks.

Here’s what they found:

✨ Cognitive improvements
People on the keto diet showed better:
Memory (both short- and long-term)
Processing speed (how fast the brain works)
Overall thinking ability

⚖️ Metabolic benefits, too
Participants on the ketogenic diet also experienced:
Weight loss
Lower blood sugar
Increased ketone levels (an alternative brain fuel)

💡 Key insight
Higher ketone levels were linked to better brain performance in most areas.

Bottom line:
A ketogenic diet may quickly improve certain aspects of brain function—especially memory and mental speed—even in healthy adults.
