🩷 What happens during a Women’s Health Physiotherapy assessment???

Many women feel nervous about booking their first appointment simply because they don’t know what to expect.

Your assessment starts with a conversation. We’ll discuss your symptoms, concerns, medical history, lifestyle, exercise habits, and goals so that I can gain a better understanding of your individual needs.

Every assessment is tailored to you as an individual, so depending on your concerns, this may include looking at your posture, movement patterns, breathing, strength, mobility, and pelvic health.

If an internal pelvic floor assessment is necessary and appropriate, I will explain exactly what it involves beforehand. These assessments are never compulsory and will only be performed with your informed consent!

My aim as your physio is to provide a comfortable and supportive environment where you feel heard, informed, and are able to ask questions openly. Many women are so surprised to learn that symptoms they have been experiencing for years are often worth discussing and assessing.

Whether you’re pregnant, postpartum, navigating menopause, experiencing pelvic floor symptoms, or seeking guidance with your pelvic health, Women’s Health Physiotherapy offers an individualised approach to assessment and management. 🩷

What exactly is Women’s Health Physiotherapy?🩷

It’s a question I get asked often…

Women’s Health Physiotherapy is a specialised area of physiotherapy that supports women through all stages of life—from adolescence and pregnancy to postpartum recovery, menopause, and beyond.

Many women experience symptoms such as bladder leakage, pelvic pain, pregnancy-related aches and pains, or difficulty returning to exercise, often believing these are simply things they need to live with!

Women’s Health Physiotherapy aims to assess, educate, and provide evidence-based treatment for a wide range of concerns affecting movement, pelvic health, function, and quality of life.

Every woman deserves to understand her body, be heard when something doesn’t feel right, and know that help is available.🩷

Meet your Physiotherapist, Chanté ✨

Hi, I’m Chanté — a physiotherapist with a special interest in Women’s Health, including pregnancy, postpartum rehabilitation, pelvic health, menopause, and helping women feel strong, pain-free, confident, and connected to their bodies again.

From early on in my physiotherapy journey, I was drawn to working with women and creating spaces where they feel supported, empowered, and truly heard. Over the years, watching many close friends transition into motherhood deepened my passion for women’s health and opened my eyes to how many women navigate pregnancy, postpartum recovery, pain, and physical changes without enough guidance, support, or education.

One of the biggest gaps I noticed is how many women are unsure about what is “normal,” what they should simply live with, and when to ask for help. While many symptoms may be common, they are often treatable — and women deserve to know that support is available.

As an avid runner and active woman myself, I understand how important it is to feel connected to your body — both physically and emotionally. This inspired me to create a calm and compassionate space where women feel cared for, listened to, and supported through every stage of life.

Whether it’s pregnancy-related pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, postpartum recovery, returning to exercise, or simply wanting to feel more comfortable in your body again, my goal is to help women move through life with more confidence, comfort, understanding and feel empowered in their healing journey🩷

Outside of the practice, you’ll usually find me running through the streets of Paarl, enjoying good coffee, travelling, or spending time with my husband and our two dogs

I’m so excited to begin this journey and share it with you.
