STOP blaming your age.

The low drive. The short fuse. Carrying weight round the middle that never used to be there. Feeling flat about things that used to light you up. “You just getting older,” you told yourself.

Yeah, testosterone dips a bit after 40 , that part’s real.

But most of what was flattening you was from your habits. The late nights. The drinks you told yourself were harmless. The belly fat. The stress you carried in your shoulders all day and never put down.

Lift heavy. Sleep properly. Drop the booze. Lose the fat. Get the stress down. Eat like it matters.

Feeling flat and putting it down to age? Let’s check that. DM me SAVAGE and let’s get it running again.

This one’s for the person who keeps saying “I’ll start when I’m less broken.”

My first YouTube video is live🤩

In it I talk about the day my back gave out and I couldn’t get out of bed and what I’d say to you if you were sitting across from me.

You don’t need to be fixed to begin. You just need to begin.

Link’s up go have a look, and let me know it landed.

Everyone tries to fix the drinking, the eating, the sleep, the stress all at once. You don’t have to.

You just need one thread to pull. For most people, that’s training — the first promise you actually keep to yourself. Keep that one, and the rest slowly stops feeling impossible.

Swipe through. If it sounds like you, DM me “SAVAGE.”

I didn’t have a food problem. I had a feeling problem!

There was a time I’d finish a whole packet of Simba Chips and something else and not even taste it.

Long day. Tired. A bit flat. And the food was never really about the food , same way the drink was never really about the drink.

It was just the closest thing to comfort I could reach without having to feel anything.

If that’s you right now, I’m not here to take it away from you.

I just want you to see it for what it is. Once you can name it, you stop being run by it!

DM me “SAVAGE” if you’re tired of eating your way through your feelings.

When I was younger I could get away with murder.

Late nights. Skipped meals. A few too many on the weekend. My body just bounced back by Monday like nothing happened.

It doesn’t work like that anymore — and if you’re honest with yourself, you already know it.

Because it’s not just your body that’s changed. It’s everything around it. Bigger role at work. Kids who need you. More on your plate than you’ve ever carried, and less time than you’ve ever had.

So your health becomes the easy thing to cut. The gym gets skipped. The good food turns into whatever’s quick. “I’ll start when things calm down” — except they never do.

That’s the real cost of getting older: the busier and more important your life gets, the more your health asks of you, and the less you feel you can give it.

But here’s the truth I keep coming back to , you can’t pour from an empty cup. The bigger your responsibilities, the more your body has to carry them. Your kids don’t need a tired, broken version of you in ten years. Your career doesn’t either. And neither do you.

So yes, it costs more now. More planning. More discipline. More saying no.

Pay it anyway. You’re the one thing holding all of it up.

If this hit a nerve and you’re tired of putting yourself last, send me the word SAVAGE and let’s talk.

You fall off because you can’t say no.

No to the extra round when you’d already had enough. No to the takeaway because everyone else was ordering. No to skipping your session because a mate wanted to hang. No to the “go on, one won’t hurt.”

Every time you say yes to keep someone else happy, you’re saying no to the person you told me you wanted to become.

I’m not asking you to live like a hermit. Go to the dinner. See your people. Have the night out. But somewhere along the way you started treating your own goals like the one thing that’s always up for negotiation , the first thing to get dropped the second someone else needs something.

Learn to say no. Not angry. Not making a big deal of it. Just no.

You’ll be surprised how fast people respect it once they see you actually mean it.

And the truth is the person who most needed to hear that no was never them.

It was you.

Real talk — I don’t drink anymore.

December 2023 was my last drink. This December it’ll be 3 years.

Here’s why. I came up in rugby culture, where you drink as much as you can and nobody takes it seriously. It’s just what you do, and I was good at it.

But I started noticing something. Even two or three beers — nothing crazy — and I’d feel it the next day. The fogginess. The broken sleep. The slow recovery. Come Monday I wasn’t fully there, not for my own training and not for my clients.

That’s what got me. I want to be at my best for the people who trust me with their goals. I couldn’t do that foggy and half-recovered.

So I stopped. And I won’t lie to you — the first month was a battle. I kept asking myself if it was even worth it. But by month two, three, I started feeling it. More energy. Clearer head. Better recovery. Better training. Better everything.

I’m not telling you to quit forever. I’m telling you to try putting your performance first — even just 30 days, zero alcohol. A few of my clients are on this journey right now.

See how you feel after a month. I think it’ll surprise you.

I’m too busy.”

I hear it almost every week. And I’m not going to argue with you — your day is full, I believe you.

But after years of doing this, I’ve noticed something. “Too busy” usually isn’t about time. It’s about having nothing left to give yourself by the time it’s finally your turn. You pour into work. Into your kids. Into everyone who needs you. And when the day’s done, the tank’s empty.

So no — I’m not going to tell you to wake up at 5am and grind. I’m going to tell you this: 20 minutes for yourself isn’t selfish. It’s how you keep showing up for everyone else.

Start there. Just 20 minutes. That’s the whole plan for now.

If you’ve been waiting until life “calms down” to begin — it doesn’t. We build it in anyway. — Jeandre
