The temperature quilt for September is above and the month of October is below...still in progress.
Swipe to see the guide of the temperatures and what colours correlate with them. The backgrounds are the minimum temperature taken at 7am in the morning and the dot is the maximum temperature reading taken between 1pm and 2pm. These are the temperatures in Fishhoek which is often different to further up the Peninsula.
It's going to begin to see the colours change as we head into Summer!

A new project started last month for the first of Spring....a temperature quilt.
Shweshwe backgrounds and solid circles. No fancy templates needed...see pic 2. Just using a lid and a cotton reel for circles. Squares are 3.5 inches and will finish at 3 inches.

The quilt top of my string quilt is complete!
I had saved many binding off cuts and leftover strips and am so glad I finally made this! 🥳 I decided it needed a piano keyboard border and used up more scraps from my stash! It is all pieced on Spunbond so it's a little heavier than usual. Quite a large picnic quilt measuring 84x84 inches square (2m 14cm) Just in time for Summer...

Baby quilt all complete! The pattern is a FPP called Kaleidoscope by .com
The bunny fabric was bought a long time ago and I'm so glad I had just enough for the border. Quilted and bound by me with a grey and white gingham as the backing fabric. All ready in time for grandchild number 4....what a blessing! 💕

Remember my Arboretum wall hanging? It's got a friend! I made a second one (on the right) to depict the landscape after the fires we had in Silvermine. The one on the left is before the fire when everything was thriving and green.
I still need to quilt them both and bind them. They are going to hang one on either side of the window in our stairwell.

After about 10 years of collecting fruit and veggie fabrics I am so delighted that I have finally made my canning jar quilt!
This is for a dear friend who makes jams and chutney and pickles...
Can you spot 3 jars that are not a fruit or a veg?
It's at the long arm quilter now ...can't wait to see the result once it's done. Will keep you posted once I get it back!
