Spring reminds us that growth doesn’t always happen all at once.
Sometimes it begins quietly - with a new bud, a little more sunlight, or the first flower opening.

As we welcome a new season, may it bring renewed hope, fresh beginnings and plenty of little moments to be grateful for. 🌱

Happy Spring Day from all of us at Robin Trust. 💚

As our Nursing Services Manager, Alicia James oversees Robin Trust's Sub-Acute Facility and our Dementia Unit, The Nest. She is living proof that it’s never too late in life to find your calling.

After a successful 16-year career in Financial Services, she followed her heart and studied nursing. During her dynamic second career, Alicia worked as a ward nurse, a case manager and gained experience in Rheumatology as well as clinical trials in HIV, TB and ophthalmology.

Alicia's journey led her to Robin Trust where she has found rewarding work in a place that aligns with her Christian values. Her advice to other women in leadership positions is to “know yourself, be unapologetic about your knowledge and your intellect, and claim your space!”

As Women's Month is coming to an end, we would like to celebrate the Women of Robin Trust.

Zuki Ali has blessed Robin Trust with her enthusiasm, positivity and professionalism since 2016. She believes working alongside the strong women at Robin Trust built her confidence which helped her progress from General Assistant to Receptionist and then to an integral member of the Finance Department as Accounts Administrator.

Her secret for success in the workplace is to embody God’s love by meeting challenges with grace and understanding. As a mother to a young daughter, her hopes for the future generation of women in South Africa is that they value humility and understand the importance of education.

Women often spend so much of their time caring for others - their families, their loved ones, their communities and the people who depend on them. But caring for yourself matters too.

As we near the end of Women’s Month, we’re taking a moment to remind women to make space for their own wellbeing, too.

Whether it's setting a boundary, taking a moment to rest, connecting with someone you love or simply checking in with yourself, self-care doesn't have to be complicated. What matters is remembering that you deserve care, too.

Here are 6 simple reminders to help make your wellbeing a priority. 🌸

❤️ A little reminder to take care of you.

Life can get busy, and it’s easy to put our own health on the back burner. But looking after your blood pressure is one small way of looking after yourself and the people who matter to you.

From moving a little more and reducing salt to managing stress and eating well, small everyday choices can make a meaningful difference.

Take a moment today to check in with yourself - your health matters, too. ❤️

This Women’s Day, we celebrated the women who are at the heart of Robin Trust. 🌷

Some of our management team members visited our different units to share Women’s Day wishes and spend time with the women who make up our Robin Trust family.

There were smiles, conversations, plenty of laughter - and, of course, some chocolates along the way. 🍫

A special day to recognise the women who bring so much of themselves to Robin Trust, every day.

Happy Women’s Month! ❤️

Dementia can change the way a person remembers and understands the world around them, but it does not take away their need for love, connection, comfort and companionship. 💜

A person living with dementia may forget your name, but they may still recognise your voice, your touch, or simply the feeling of being loved and cared for.

That’s why compassionate dementia care is about so much more than remembering. It’s about creating a sense of safety, dignity and connection, and meeting each person where they are.

At Robin Trust, we provide specialised dementia care both at The Nest, our dedicated dementia care unit, and through our Home-Based Care services, supporting people living with dementia in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes.

Because even when memories fade, the feeling of being cared for can remain. 💜
