5 things to know before your mammogram π©Ί
Whether it's your first time or your fifth, a little preparation makes everything feel calmer. Save this post for whenever you need it π
1. No referral needed. You can book directly with us, on your timeline. No need to wait for a doctor's letter.
2. Bring (or tell us about) your previous scans. If you've had a mammogram before, sharing your previous images or report helps the radiologist compare year on year. If you're not sure how to access them, just let us know and we'll guide you.
3. Dress in two pieces. You'll be asked to undress from the waist up, so a top and bottom (rather than a dress) makes things easier and quicker.
4. Skip deodorant, lotions, and talc on the day. These products can show up on the images and affect the clarity of your scan. A quick rinse before you come is perfect.
5. Plan for around 45 minutes. That's the full appointment, from reception to leaving.
The imaging itself takes just a few minutes, with brief, gradual compression of just seconds per image.
A little preparation goes a long way. And as always, our team is here to walk you through everything from the moment you arrive.
π Save this post so it's handy when you book. And tag a friend who's been meaning to book hers. No referral needed, book directly with us whenever you're ready.
