🔥 Wildland Fire Fighting Practical Training | EMCARE NFPA Fire Fighter Students

Our NFPA Fire Fighter I & II students recently took part in hands-on Wildland Fire Fighting practicals, putting their skills to the test in a controlled training environment.

Using grass beaters and firefighting knapsacks, students practised essential techniques for containing and extinguishing grass fires under the supervision of our experienced instructors.

These practical exercises help students develop the skills, confidence, and teamwork needed to respond effectively to real-world fire emergencies.

🔥 NFPA Fire Fighter Practical Training | Fire Hose Operations

Our NFPA Fire Fighter students were on the training ground today, sharpening their practical skills in fire hose handling and operation under the guidance of one of our experienced instructors.

These practical sessions give students the opportunity to build confidence working with charged hose lines, develop effective handling techniques, and strengthen the teamwork required during real firefighting operations.

This training forms part of their preparation for the upcoming live fire practicals, where these skills will be put into action under realistic training conditions.

🚒 FIRE PUMP OPERATOR — PRACTICAL TRAINING

Our Fire Pump Operator students were out in the field today putting theory into practice.

During the practical session, students worked on drafting water from a static water source, using a dam to establish a water supply to the fire apparatus before operating the pump to deliver water through the discharge system and hoselines.

The practical training develops essential skills in:

• Setting up for drafting operations
• Establishing suction from a static water source
• Priming and operating the fire pump
• Managing pump pressure and water flow
• Supplying water through fire hoselines

Hands-on training forms an important part of developing the competence required to safely and effectively operate fire pumping equipment.
