Whether you are looking for a secure, serene environment where you can fully enjoy independent living, occasional assisted care in the comfort of your own apartment, or daily nursing support in our on-site care facilities, you'll find a full range of lifestyle and care options in every Macadamia Village in White River, West Acres in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, and Tzaneen, Polokwane in Limpopo, as well as Somerset West in the Western Cape. A Macadamia Care Centre, which offers 24-hour care by registered well-qualified nurses and trained caregivers, aims to be a place where the individual needs of a resident (and others) are provided for in a home away from home environment. The Care Centres are privately owned and managed independently of the Macadamia Villages, but are available to all residents (and others) should they have need of such services. Macadamia's assisted living services are designed for residents who are generally in good health but who in time may require extra help with day-to-day tasks like assistance with medication, dressings, or bathing. Most residents enjoying assisted living will never have to move into the 24-hour care centres, with the exceptions being cases such as Alzheimer's or extreme physical frailty. Our assisted living services are provided by a highly trained and dedicated staff of nurses, and caregivers who specialise in assisted living. The minimum level of service includes an emergency panic button, a main daily meal, laundry and cleaning of their apartment. There are also some additional and complimentary services available. The well-equipped and modern frail care centres cater for residents and members of the general public who are physically or mentally frail and need full time nursing care. While preferential access is given to our Village homeowners, fee-paying public access allows the Macadamia Care Centres to be self-sustainable and helps to provide an affordable service for all residents should they ever need full time care and support. In summary the Macadamia Frail Care features include:
1) a modern, on-site Frail Care Centre open 24-hours a day
2) well qualified nursing staff and caregivers on duty 24-hours a day
3) specialised care for people living with memory impairment conditions such as Alzheimer's
4) assisted living services allowing residents to enjoy appropriate levels of care in the comfort of their own homes
5) each freehold unit in the Village is connected to the Care Centre via a panic button for medical emergencies
6) a variety of supportive care is available for the residents at an appropriate rate, and if in need, residents are guaranteed access to frail care services at the prescribed rate.
