πŸŒ™ Is Your Baby's Sleep Becoming a Problem?

Does any of this sound familiar?

βœ… You have to comfort your baby several times every night.
βœ… Your baby can only fall asleep with your help (feeding, rocking or being pushed in the pram).
βœ… Your baby struggles to fall back asleep after waking at night.
βœ… Your baby wakes very early every morning.
βœ… Bedtime is a daily battle, or your baby goes to bed too early or too late.
βœ… Your baby is irritable, demanding or overtired during the day.
βœ… Your baby (over 12 months) still needs several feeds or bottles during the night.
βœ… Your baby sleeps much less than the recommended amount in 24 hours.
βœ… Naps last only 5–15 minutes.
βœ… You are constantly exhausted because of your baby's sleep.
βœ… You feel overwhelmed, frustrated or desperate about your baby's sleep.
βœ… Your life revolves around trying to get your baby to sleep.
βœ… You keep blaming teething, colic, reflux, a blocked nose or something else, but nothing seems to improve.
βœ… You compare your baby's sleep to other babies and wonder why yours won't sleep.
βœ… You're tired of hearing, "Just let the baby cry."
βœ… Your baby is under 3 months old and you'd like to establish healthy sleep habits before sleep becomes a problem.

If you answered YES to more than 2 of these questions, your baby may benefit from sleep support.

πŸ’— The good news is that help is available.

My sleep coaching does NOT involve leaving your baby to cry.

Instead, I provide practical, gentle and evidence-based strategies that help your baby learn healthy sleep habits while respecting your parenting style and your baby's unique temperament.

Together we'll:
🌸 Improve naps and night sleep.
🌸 Reduce unnecessary night wakings.
🌸 Create healthy sleep routines.
🌸 Help your baby learn to settle without distress.
🌸 Give the whole family the gift of better sleep.

πŸ‘Ά Sleep coaching is available from birth to 3 years and can help prevent problems before they become overwhelming.

πŸ’• "I have had no problems with sore ni***es, milk production, my baby's weight gain, and have not had to use formula or a bottle at all." πŸ’•

One of the greatest compliments I can receive is hearing that a mother feels confident and supported on her breastfeeding journey.

Here's what one mom shared after preparing for breastfeeding before her baby was born:

"June 1st I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl. She latched with no problem.

One of the nurses told me she would come to help with getting her latched. The way she taught was all wrong.

I politely explained that I had already had a consultation with Sr Teresa, who was my lactation consultant.

I have had no problems with sore ni***es, milk production, my baby's weight gain, and have not had to use formula or a bottle at all, compared to most of my friends.

Thank you for helping me and so many others! I'm pretty sure my daughter appreciates you as well... she's greedy! 🀣❀️"

Every breastfeeding journey is unique, but preparation and ongoing support can make all the difference.

Whether you're expecting your first baby or adding another little one to your family, a prenatal breastfeeding consultation helps you prepare with confidence and aims to prevent many of the common challenges new mothers experience, including:
🌸 Painful or damaged ni***es
🌸 Breast engorgement
🌸 Concerns about milk supply
🌸 Mastitis
🌸 Difficulty with latching
🌸 Early formula supplementation
🌸 Unnecessary use of ni**le shields or dummies

At the Birth & Beyond Breastfeeding Clinic, I provide expert guidance before your baby is born and continued support after delivery, helping you breastfeed comfortably and confidently for as long as you choose.

πŸ’— All mothers using my breastfeeding services receive ongoing guidance and 24/7 support throughout their breastfeeding journey.

DOES YOUR BABY HAVE A FEEDING PROBLEM?

Many common baby concernsβ€”including wind, cramping, reflux, constipation, colic and even poor sleepβ€”can be linked to feeding difficulties.

Are you experiencing any of these?

- Pain while breastfeeding (latching or during feeds)
- Low milk supply
- Thrush or mastitis
- Reflux, colic, constipation or excessive wind
- Baby sleeping poorly
- Bottle feeds taking longer than 30 minutes
- Weight gain of less than 150 g or more than 300 g per week
- Formula-fed baby wanting feeds more often than every 4 hours
- Baby drinking more than recommended for their weight
- Fighting or refusing feeds
- Crying during or after feeds

These are all possible signs of a feeding problemβ€”and many can be resolved with the right assessment and support from a professional who specialises in infant feeding.

Whether you are breastfeeding, formula feeding, introducing solids, or preparing to breastfeed during pregnancy, getting the right advice early can make all the difference.

Research shows that early professional support leads to a more positive and successful feeding journey for both mom and baby.

During a Feeding Consultation I can help with:

🀱 Breastfeeding assessment and support
🍼 Formula feeding guidance
πŸ₯£ Starting solids safely
πŸ‘Ά Feeding difficulties and poor weight gain
πŸ’— Reflux, colic, constipation and excessive wind
😴 Feeding-related sleep concerns
🀰 Antenatal feeding preparation

Don't struggle alone. Early intervention can prevent ongoing feeding problems and help your baby thrive.

Appointments available in person or virtually.

WHEN SHOULD YOU CALL A LACTATION CONSULTANT?

The best time to connect with a lactation consultant is before your baby is born. Planning ahead means you have expert support from the very beginning of your breastfeeding journey.

I recommend meeting with a lactation consultant during pregnancy so that she can assist you in hospital after your baby's birth and continue to support you once you're home.

While many private midwives are also lactation consultants, not all hospital midwives and nurses have specialised lactation training. Starting with the right information can make all the difference.

Contact a lactation consultant if your baby:
β€’ Is jaundiced
β€’ Refuses to latch
β€’ Causes pain during breastfeeding (breastfeeding should never be painful)
β€’ Is not gaining weight well
β€’ Is gaining weight too quickly
β€’ Cries excessively or seems very fussy
β€’ Wants to feed constantly
β€’ Was born prematurely
β€’ Spits up frequently
β€’ Has reflux, colic or excessive wind

Contact a lactation consultant if you:
β€’ Have flat or inverted ni***es
β€’ Have sore, cracked or bleeding ni***es
β€’ Are experiencing breast engorgement
β€’ Have concerns about a low milk supply
β€’ Are returning to work and need to express breastmilk
β€’ Think you may have mastitis
β€’ Feel stressed or overwhelmed by feeding
β€’ Need to take medication while breastfeeding
β€’ Need help choosing a breast pump or expressing milk
β€’ Are receiving conflicting breastfeeding advice

As a Registered Midwife, Lactation Consultant, Infant & Paediatric Feeding Specialist, I provide both prenatal and postnatal breastfeeding consultations, giving you personalised support every step of the way.
