Indlela Mental Health

Indlela Mental Health IMH was established in 1939 in response to the needs highlighted by learning partners with intellectual & psychosocial disabilities & their families.

From onset, the organisation rendered holistic services, not discriminating on basis of race or religion.

Progress doesn't have to be perfect.

Every small step you take towards caring for your mental health matters. Whether it's taking a walk, reaching out to a friend, or simply making it through a difficult day, remember that progress is about moving forward, not being perfect.

💚 Be kind to yourself today. One small step is enough.

Welcome, August! Happy Women's Month!

This Women's Month, let's celebrate the strength, resilience and courage of women across South Africa while remembering that mental health is just as important as physical health.

Take a moment to rest, reach out, and be kind to yourself. When women thrive, families, communities, and our nation thrive too. 💚

Stay warm this weekend and let the movies do more than entertain. ❤️

Many Disney and animated films explore emotions, grief, anxiety, resilience, belonging, and healing in ways that are meaningful for both children and adults. So grab a warm blanket, your favourite snacks, and enjoy a movie that sparks conversation and reminds us that it's okay to feel, grow, and ask for help.

Which movie on our list is your favourite? 🍿💚

A heartfelt thank you to APD Nelson Mandela Bay and Auto X for spending a meaningful day with our Learning Partners at Herberg.

APD assisted us in getting our vegetable garden started and generously provided warm, nourishing soup for our Learning Partners.

Auto X, who kindly donated the wooden pallets for our gardening project, also spoiled everyone with wonderful winter goodies to help keep the cold at bay.

The highlight of the day was seeing both teams spend quality time with our Learning Partners, laughing, chatting, and enjoying a fun game of Bingo together. Moments like these remind us of the power of community, kindness, and inclusion.

Thank you for your generosity, compassion, and support. Together, we are growing more than just a garden, we are growing connections. 💚
