If you’re treating pigmentation, you’ve probably heard me talk about tyrosinase inhibitors — but why are they so important?

Tyrosinase is an enzyme involved in melanin (pigment) production. When the skin is triggered by things like sun exposure, hormones or inflammation, pigmentation production can become overactive.

So when treating pigmentation, we don’t only want to work on the pigment we can already see — we also want to help slow down the production of new pigment.

When choosing your skincare products, look out for these pigment-regulating and tyrosinase-inhibiting ingredients:
