🌊👂 Top 5 Tips to Avoid Swimmer’s Ear 👂🌊

Swimmer’s ear (otitis externa) is painful — but often preventable! Protect your ears with these simple tips:

1️⃣ Keep ears dry
After swimming or showering, gently dry your ears with a towel. Tilt your head to let water drain out.

2️⃣ Avoid inserting objects
No cotton buds, tissues, or fingers — they damage the ear canal and increase infection risk.

3️⃣ Use earplugs when swimming
Well-fitting swim earplugs help keep water out, especially for frequent swimmers.

4️⃣ Rinse after swimming in pools or the sea
Clean water is safer than stagnant or dirty water. Shower soon after swimming.

5️⃣ Don’t ignore early symptoms
Itchiness, pain, discharge, or blocked ears? See a healthcare professional early to prevent complications.

My 5yr old daughter came home with this very simple, but oh so cute😍, school project of building a hospital🏥. She points to the doctor by the girl’s bed and whispers in my ear: “Mamma, do you want to hear a secret - that’s you with the otoscope and it’s me in the bed with a nurse cap 👩🏼‍⚕️!”
