Seeing the occasional floater is completely normal, especially as we get older.

However, if you suddenly notice a large increase in floaters, flashes of light or what feels like a curtain moving across your vision, don't ignore it.

These symptoms can sometimes indicate a serious eye condition that needs urgent attention.

There are a few things we wish every patient knew before walking into our practice.

👁️ You can have 20/20 vision and still have an eye disease.
👁️ Not all screen-related headaches are caused by blue light. Sometimes your prescription, eye coordination or dry eyes are the real problem.
👁️ Children don’t always know their vision is poor because they assume everyone sees the way they do.
👁️ Many serious eye conditions, including glaucoma, often have no symptoms until permanent vision has already been lost.
👁️ Your eyes can reveal signs of diabetes, high blood pressure, autoimmune diseases and other health conditions long before you notice other symptoms.

The best time to find a problem is before it affects your vision. That’s why regular eye exams matter, even if you think your eyes are perfectly healthy.
