Wat ’n voorreg om deel te wees van iets wat soveel groter is as net ’n kompetisie!

Gisteraand het ons die voorreg gehad om die Maak My 'n Miljoenêr 2026-galafunksie by te woon en die ongelooflike talent, ondernemingsgees en potensiaal van jong Suid-Afrikaners te vier.

Nadat ek die afgelope naweek as mentor by die Top 20 betrokke was, was dit besonder spesiaal om hierdie jong entrepreneurs weer te sien en hul prestasies saam met hulle te vier.

Wat my die meeste inspireer, is nie net wat hierdie jongmense reeds bereik het nie, maar wie hulle besig is om te word. Hulle herinner ons dat sukses nie bloot oor prestasie gaan nie, maar ook oor karakter, deursettingsvermoë, moed en die bereidwilligheid om te leer en te groei.

Baie geluk aan Elysia Engelbrecht, honey_liquid_gold, die 2026-wenner, en aan elke deelnemer wat die moed gehad het om hul drome na te jaag.

’n Besondere woord van waardering aan Albert van Wyk en almal wat hierdie geleentheid moontlik maak. Julle skep nie net geleenthede nie; julle belê in mense, hul toekoms en ’n nalatenskap wat veel verder as hierdie kompetisie strek.

Ek voel opreg bevoorreg om op ’n klein manier deel te kan wees van hierdie besonderse inisiatief.

Die toekoms is in goeie hande wanneer ons jongmense leer om nie net groot te droom nie, maar ook die mens te ontwikkel wat daardie drome kan verwesenlik.

Wanneer lewenservaring ’n geleentheid word om iemand anders se toekoms te help vorm.

Wat ’n besondere voorreg om as mentor by Maak My 'n Miljoenêr se Top 20 jong entrepreneurs betrokke te wees!

Vir my gaan mentorskap oor soveel meer as die oordra van kennis. Dit gaan daaroor om ons eie lewenservarings, lesse, uitdagings en insigte te gebruik om ander te bemagtig, nuwe perspektiewe te bied en deure na groter geleenthede te help oopmaak.

Wat hierdie ervaring nóg meer betekenisvol maak, is die voorreg om saam met eendersdenkende mense te werk wat, elkeen met sy eie unieke lewenspad, dieselfde begeerte deel: om ’n positiewe verskil in ander se lewens te maak.

Ons hoef nie almal dieselfde pad te gestap het om dieselfde doel na te streef nie.

Uiteindelik lê die waarde van ons eie sukses ook in wat ons daarmee vir ander moontlik maak.

Dankbaar vir die geleentheid, die samewerking en die voorreg om in die potensiaal van ons jong entrepreneurs te belê.

Not every reaction requires a response.

One of the quietest signs of personal refinement is knowing when to pause.

Not every comment needs correcting.
Not every disagreement needs winning.
Not every emotion needs an immediate reaction.

The pause gives you something valuable: choice.

You can still be direct.
You can still have boundaries.
You can still speak up.

But now you are responding with intention rather than reacting on impulse.

That is self-mastery.
