OTs doing OT things

At SAISI ExpoSense, our “Child Minding” area was not just a space where children waited while their parents attended our endorsed talks. It became a beautiful example of occupational therapy in action.

With a group of passionate and well-trained OTs, and a wonderful play mat from Tayla Jean Play Mats, the children were invited to explore, climb, crawl, roll, hide, imagine and connect.

This is what we mean when we talk about object affordances — the hidden possibilities an object offers for play, learning, movement and growth.

A simple play mat became a tunnel, a mountain, a calm space, a movement challenge, a social invitation and a whole world of imagination.

Thank you to Kido Co Baby & Toddler and Tayla Jean Play Mats for adding such a meaningful and practical element to our child-minding area. The children and the OTs loved every moment of it.
