It’s Alopecia (Hair loss) awareness month! Alopecia is very common and there are different types that we are going to delve into through the month, and beyond this month.
Alopecia is classified into Non-scarring and Scarring. It’s important to know the difference between the 2, and to be aware of what type of hair loss you have & treatment options available.
Most crucially, the need to consult a dermatologist from the outset for better outcome, cannot be stressed enough.

She obtained her MBChB medical degree in 2010 from the University of KwaZulu Natal and has been working in the Department of Dermatology since 2015.
