💜 World Alzheimer’s Day 💜

Dementia changes so much, but it does not change the person we love.

If I ever get dementia, I hope my family remembers:

🌸 Please introduce yourself when you enter the room. Never make me anxious by asking, “Do you know who I am?”

🌸 Embrace my reality. If I believe someone who has passed away is still alive, don’t argue with me. Meet me where I am.

🌸 Don’t take it personally if I forget your name. My timeline may be confusing, but my love for you is still there.

🌸 Talk to me like the adult I am. Don’t talk about me as though I’m not in the room.

🌸 When I’m sad or anxious, hold my hand, listen and reassure me.

🌸 Help me continue doing the things I enjoy — music, exercise, stories, friends, family and laughter.

🌸 Don’t exclude me from gatherings. I still want to feel part of the family.

🌸 And most importantly, remember that I am still the person you know and love. ❤️

Dementia is often described as “the longest goodbye” — but perhaps we can make that goodbye a little gentler by choosing patience, dignity, connection and love every step of the way.

💜 For everyone living with Alzheimer’s and dementia, for their families and caregivers, and for all those we have loved and lost.

You are still you. And you are still loved. 🌼💜

This group is a safe, welcoming space for the Parkinson’s community — including people living with Parkinson’s, their loved ones, family members, and caregivers.

Come and connect with others who understand the journey; share experiences, ask questions, learn from one another, and find encouragement and support in a friendly, understanding environment.

Whether you have recently been diagnosed, have been living with Parkinson’s for many years, or are supporting someone you love — you are not alone, and you are very welcome.
