The merger of Southern Implants Inc (the American Southern company) with Keystone Dental, took place in June 2012. This will increase the availability and distribution of Southern products, in the Americas and Asia. It is seen as an important move in exposing more top-end users to the philosophies and innovative products, developed by Southern Implants of South Africa. The relationship between the merged company, which will retain the name "Keystone Dental", and Southern Implants, is as follows:
Keystone Dental has a license, granted by Southern Implants, to manufacture and distribute the products that have been developed by Southern Implants. This License is restricted to North America, South America, and Asia. The license does not extend to Africa, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and parts of the Middle East. Southern Implants products, which include the following innovations :
- the Passive Abutment
- the Co-axis Implant
- the Max Implant
will continue to be exclusively supplied and serviced by Southern Implants, and our appointed distributors, in Africa, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and parts of the Middle East. In the Americas and Asia, these products will be supplied and serviced by Keystone Dental.
