The “What If?” Trap
Worry often lives in the future.
What if something goes wrong?
What if I can't cope?
What if something happens to someone I love?
Thinking ahead can sometimes help us prepare. But when “what if?” thoughts become constant, they can keep us stuck in a cycle of fear and uncertainty.
Try gently bringing your attention back to the present:
What do I know right now?
What is actually happening right now?
Is there something I can realistically do about it?
You don't have to solve every possible future problem today.
