Spine Health for Life starts with what we do every day.

You don’t need a perfect routine to start caring for your spine. Small habits, practised consistently, can help you stay active and support your health over time.

Take a look at these five daily habits for lifelong spine health. Choose one that fits into your day, and save it as a reminder for later.

Which habit will you focus on today? Tell us in the comments!

Patients may present with pain and possible tingling/numbness in the region of the buttock.

The pain intensity may vary from mild to severe and may extend down the leg into the foot.

The pain may be triggered by sitting with a wallet in your back pocket, walking up stairs or even sitting for too long.

WORLD OSTEOPOROSIS DAY

Four days ago, on World Spine Day, we spoke about Spine Health for Life. Today’s message is a fitting continuation: bone health is for life, too.

The 2026 World Osteoporosis Day campaign encourages us to build, protect and strengthen our bones at every stage of life. Build with good nutrition and regular weight-bearing and muscle-strengthening activity.

Osteoporosis can weaken the bones of the spine and increase the risk of fracture. Protect by understanding your osteoporosis risk, seeking assessment when appropriate and taking steps to prevent falls.

Strengthen through the right care and ongoing support if you have osteoporosis or have experienced a fracture.

Your chiropractor can help by considering bone health and fracture risk when assessing your symptoms, adapting care to your needs and referring you for further assessment when appropriate.

Caring for your spine means caring for the bones that support it, throughout life.

WORLD PAEDIATRIC BONE & JOINT DAY

Spine Health for Life begins in childhood.

Children and teenagers use their bodies to play, learn, explore and take part in sport. When pain, stiffness or difficulty moving persists, it deserves to be heard and properly assessed.

A chiropractor with experience in caring for children and adolescents can assess musculoskeletal concerns, offer age-appropriate advice on movement and activity, and refer a child for further care when needed.

World Paediatric Bone & Joint Day reminds us to include young people in conversations about bone, joint and spine health. Let’s encourage movement they enjoy, listen when something hurts and help them get the right support.

Lifelong spine health starts with taking young people’s health seriously.

HAPPY WORLD SPINE DAY!

Spine Health for Life is a message worth taking beSpine Health for Life is a message worth taking be the clinic, and this year, we’ve loved seeing it come to life.

We hosted the first CASA World Spine Day Walk, bringing hundreds of people together to move for spine health.

CASA shared its World Spine Day work at the WFC Education Conference in Utrecht, taking our ideas and experiences to an international audience.

Schools welcomed spinal screenings and a visit from Vertebro, helping bring conversations about spine health to their communities.

Our social media has turned green and blue as we share information about World Spine Day and chiropractic care.

Every walk, school visit, and conversation is an opportunity to help someone think about how they care for their spine, not just today, but throughout life.

What are your plans for World Spine Day this year? Tell us in the comments and tag CASA in what you’re doing. We’d love to see how you’re bringing Spine Health for Life to your community!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

Breast cancer affects both men and women, so awareness matters for everyone.

Know your body. Have new breast or underarm lumps, skin changes or ni**le changes assessed promptly, and speak to your healthcare provider about screening.

Chiropractors support health awareness and appropriate referral. Any chiropractic care during cancer treatment should be coordinated with your oncology team.

CASA stands with everyone affected by breast cancer.

WORLD ARTHRITIS DAY

Joint health is part of Spine Health for Life. Osteoarthritis can affect the spine, as well as other joints, and its impact reaches far beyond a scan or a diagnosis.

According to the World Health Organization:
- Around 73% of people living with osteoarthritis are older than 55, and 60% are female.
- The knee is the most frequently affected joint, with an estimated 365 million people affected, followed by the hip and hand.

Osteoarthritis can cause pain, stiffness and difficulty moving. If symptoms are affecting your daily life, an assessment can help you understand what’s happening and find an approach to care that suits your needs.

This World Arthritis Day, let’s support people living with joint conditions and keep the conversation about lifelong movement going.

NATIONAL NUTRITION WEEK | 9–15 OCTOBER

Spine Health for Life starts with the habits we build every day, and what we eat is part of the picture.

Our spines are supported by bones and muscles. A varied diet that includes sources of calcium, vitamin D and protein helps support bone and muscle health throughout life.

As National Nutrition Week leads us into World Spine Day on 16 October, let’s remember that caring for our spines goes beyond a single day. Nourish your body, keep moving and seek support when pain affects your daily life.

Small, sustainable choices today can support your health for years to come.
