Cremation
Cremation has grown in popularity over recent years. Eco-friendly activists are keen on cremations as it is not harmful to the environment at all. There are more reasons to cremate other than considering the earth.
You are a lot more flexible in handling the remains. You can place it in a scatter urn to scatter at a location that meant a lot to the deceased. You can even keep it in a memorial urn at home. There are memorial walls at cemeteries and churches where it can be kept.
Other beautiful ways to use or keep the ashes is to use a small amount of it in custom made jewelry or glass ornaments. You can even use the ashes to be grown into a tree. Leaving a lasting legacy as well as contributing to a healthier planet.
There is also a negative side to cremation. Some people cannot think of their loved one going through the cremation process. Once cremated it cannot be undone so your wishes to your family must be very clear. Disagreement on this can cause unnecessary friction. Cremation is also not available to be done everywhere. The number of crematoriums are limited.
Make sure when choosing between burial and cremation. Do your own research as well and make known what you want. Cremation has a lot of positive sides but also as everything does, a couple of things to consider on the negative side as well. Each person will have their own convictions and reasons to be cremated or not. Whatever they choose, respect it and carry out their request without opposing it or causing confusion.
