Good habits during pregnancy.

Key Nutritional Habits

Take Prenatal Vitamins: Take a daily supplement containing 400–800 mcg of folic acid to prevent birth defects.

Eat Nutrient-Dense Foods: Focus on iron, calcium, and protein, including leafy greens, lean meats, and fortified dairy products.

Manage Food Safety: Avoid raw fish (sushi), unpasteurized cheese, deli meats, and high-mercury fish (e.g., swordfish).

Limit Caffeine: Limit caffeine intake to under 200 mg per day.

Physical and Healthy Habits

Regular Exercise: Engage in at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity per week, such as walking, swimming, or prenatal yoga.

Adequate Sleep: Prioritize 7 to 9 hours of sleep, taking naps as necessary, especially during the third trimester.

Attend Appointments: Go to all scheduled prenatal visits to monitor fetal development.

Good Hygiene: Wash hands frequently to avoid infections like CMV and toxoplasmosis.

Habits to Avoid

Alcohol & Nicotine: Avoid all alcohol, to***co, va**ng, and illegal drugs.
