At approximately 13:06 on Sunday afternoon, ResMed Emergency Medical Services was notified of a house fire on Collins Street, Zinnaville, Rustenburg.

ResMed Emergency Medical Services, together with the Rustenburg Fire Department and Secure Fire, was dispatched to the scene where firefighters worked swiftly to contain and successfully extinguish the fire.

Throughout the incident, ResMed Emergency Medical Services remained on scene with medical personnel on standby to provide immediate medical assistance should it have been required.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

At approximately 21:13 on Saturday evening, ResMed Emergency Medical Services was notified of a serious motor vehicle accident that had just occurred on the R104 towards Kroondal, Rustenburg, involving a truck and a light motor vehicle in a head-on collision.

ResMed Emergency Medical Services was dispatched to the scene alongside other emergency medical service providers and the Rustenburg Fire Department. Upon arrival, emergency personnel worked together to safely extricate the injured patient from the vehicle.

Following the successful extrication, the patient was assessed and treated on scene before being transported to the nearest appropriate medical facility for further medical treatment and evaluation.

We commend all emergency services involved for their teamwork and coordinated efforts in ensuring the patient received the highest standard of emergency care.

At approximately 10:20 on Saturday morning, ResMed Emergency Medical Services was notified of a motor vehicle accident that had just occurred on the R104 near Nyala Rock Estate, Rustenburg, involving one entrapped patient.

ResMed Emergency Medical Services was dispatched to the scene alongside other emergency medical service providers and the Rustenburg Fire Department. Upon arrival, emergency personnel worked together to safely extricate the entrapped patient from the vehicle.

Following the successful extrication, the patient was assessed and treated on scene before being transported to the nearest appropriate medical facility for further medical care.

We commend all emergency services involved for their coordinated efforts and professionalism in ensuring the patient received prompt and effective care.

At approximately 23:33 on Friday evening, ResMed Emergency Medical Services was notified of a motor vehicle accident that had occurred on Shingwezi Road, Rustenburg.

ResMed Emergency Medical Services, together with another emergency medical service provider, responded to the scene where one critically injured patient was found.

Emergency personnel worked together to rapidly assess, treat, and stabilise the patient on scene before transporting the patient to the hospital while providing continuous advanced medical care throughout the journey.

Despite the best efforts of all emergency personnel and the receiving hospital staff, the patient sadly succumbed to their injuries.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the patient’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.

At approximately 03:00 on Thursday morning, ResMed Emergency Medical Services was requested to conduct the inter-facility transfer of a critically injured one-year-old patient from Polokwane Provincial Hospital to Medicare Private Hospital Rustenburg.

Upon receiving the request, our Advanced Life Support (ALS) crew immediately prepared for the transfer, ensuring that all the necessary critical care equipment was ready. Our ALS Paramedic was dispatched with a portable ventilator and all the required advanced life support equipment to provide continuous, high-quality patient care throughout the entire journey.

The patient was safely transferred under the care of our ALS Paramedic and crew and transported to Medicare Private Hospital for ongoing specialist treatment and care.

We extend our sincere appreciation to LenCo PTY Ltd for their valued support in helping ensure that the patient received the highest standard of critical care throughout the transfer.

We wish the young patient a full and speedy recovery.
