My favourite part of the day 😍 The European winters can be harsh, but it’s days like these that make it worthwhile 🤩🤩🌷🌷 🇳🇱

My dogs may be every nutritionist’s dream—they’ll happily eat broccoli, carrots, radishes, cabbage, spinach, berries... pretty much anything I offer them! 🐶🥦 (except things on the forbidden list of course!!)

For us humans, cruciferous veg like cabbage, rocket, broccoli and radishes are some of the most nutrient-dense vegetables you can eat. They’re rich in fibre, vitamin C, folate and compounds called glucosinolates, which are converted into bioactive compounds like sulforaphane. These support the liver’s natural detoxification pathways, protect against cancer, increase antioxidant defences, and help support a healthy inflammatory response.

Adding a variety of plants like these plus leafy greens and berries is a simple way to boost your intake of protective plant compounds. Greens provide essential vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients, while berries are rich in polyphenols and anthocyanins—powerful antioxidants that help protect our cells from oxidative stress and support overall health.

The takeaway? You don’t need to love every vegetable, but regularly including cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, leafy greens and antioxidant-rich fruits like berries is a delicious way to nourish your body and support your long-term health. 🌱💚

Did you know that spending time with pets and in nature helps to lower the stress hormone cortisol?

🌿 Trees release natural compounds called phytoncides, which research suggests helps us lower stress, support immune function, and encourage a calmer nervous system.

Sometimes the best stress relief isn’t another app or productivity hack—it’s 20 minutes outside. 🌲💚

Beautiful South Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦! This is where my heart lies, food for the soul. I tried to capture a few of my favourite things, but of course I missed out the friendliest people in the world 😬😬🌞

Our go-to breakfasts usually contain a mixture of berries and fruit, Greek yoghurt for protein a probiotics, granola and mixed seeds like flax for omega 3 and phytosterols to balance hormones, but I must say this morning felt like a treat 🍒🍒! I added some tahini for extra calcium 😋

Cherries contain Melatonin which can aid sleep and contain potent antioxidants which help to reduce inflammation, aiding sports recovery and can help uric acid levels in gout.
