At the 2026 Organic and Natural Products Expo, Standard Bank and industry experts discussed how practical ESD support, market access, and digital tools help emerging agribusinesses grow.

A sponsor logo is one thing. A team that shows up for SMEs is another.

At Organic & Natural Products Expo Africa Johannesburg 2026, the Standard Bank South Africa team was on the floor, speaking with visitors and engaging directly with the businesses around them.

Front and centre on the stand was SimplyBLU, Standard Bank’s smart all-in-one payment solution for business, bringing payments and business management together in one merchant solution.

For Organic & Natural Products Expo Africa, this is where the partnership becomes meaningful.

SME support sits at the heart of this Expo. Our exhibitors need more than visibility. They need practical business tools, meaningful commercial conversations and partners who take a genuine interest in what they are building.

That is exactly what we saw from the Standard Bank team at Sandton Convention Centre.

We are proud to have Standard Bank South Africa as sponsor of Organic & Natural Products Expo Africa Johannesburg 2026.

Warren Hickinbotham used the second part of his conference address to look ahead to 2027 and the next stage of the Organic & Natural Products Expo Africa

Cape Town and Johannesburg remain the two main annual Expos. Around them, the platform is expanding to create more market access for exhibitors and SMEs throughout the year.

The African Biotrade Festival, The BioProducts Advancement Network South Africa (BioPANZA), is planned for Johannesburg in September 2027. It joins the Expo every second year, bringing growers, producers, importers and exporters into the event at significant scale. Its participation effectively doubles the size of the Johannesburg Expo.

An East London roadshow is also planned for May alongside the Eastern Cape Government and the African Agri Investment Indaba.

Behind the scenes, a fully automated exhibitor onboarding process is planned to make registration and participation more streamlined.

Between events, Organic & Natural Media is set to launch with a monthly newsletter distributed directly to the trade database, keeping participating brands in front of buyers and industry audiences throughout the year.

Our new online retail partner My-Terra adds another route to market, extending online retail access for exhibitors and SMEs beyond the physical Expo.

The direction for 2027 is clear. Cape Town and Johannesburg remain the anchors, supported by biotrade, regional activity, trade media, stronger exhibitor systems and year-round routes to market.

Johannesburg, thank you for meeting this Expo with such generosity.
For many exhibitors, being in Hall 2 represented months or years of work. It meant producing stock, travelling, building a stand and putting limited resources behind the hope that the right person would stop, listen and buy. For some, every rand invested in the Expo mattered.

Thank you to every visitor who understood this. Every purchase, conversation, introduction and word of encouragement supported a real person and a real business.

Behind the stands was another group of people whose work was less visible. The organisers, venue teams, builders, suppliers, cleaners, security staff, technicians and crews who worked before the doors opened and long after visitors had left. Thank you for the care and effort you gave to these three days.

Our speakers shared their knowledge freely. Our partners, stakeholders and media partners helped the Expo reach further.

To Standard Bank South Africa, our official sponsor, thank you for standing behind SMEs and supporting entrepreneurship, business growth and access to markets.

Organic & Natural Products Expo Africa is built by people who believe in what they produce and who take real risks to move their businesses forward.

Johannesburg, you did more than attend. You helped make their work worthwhile.

A look back at Friday’s Standard Bank - South Africa panel discussion on Africa Growth and Sustainability at the Organic & Natural Products Expo Africa in Johannesburg.

Lagini Govender, Nokhanyo Ntshingila, Inayath Buckus and Bayanda Vincent Maseko shared their knowledge and perspectives with our conference audience.

Thank you to each of our speakers for sharing their knowledge and perspectives on Africa Growth and Sustainability and to Programme Director ChiChi (Chizoba) Tabane for leading the discussion through her questions and guiding the conversation.

It was a valuable session for the SMEs, entrepreneurs and businesses represented at this year’s Expo and a pleasure to have the full panel with us, both on stage and afterwards.

Proudly sponsored by Standard Bank South Africa.

Lagini Govender, Head, Provincial, Enterprise Banking (Gauteng) at Standard Bank - South Africa, opened her session at the Organic & Natural Products Expo Africa by wishing women a happy Women’s Day and recognising the role women play in building businesses and economies.

Her focus then turned to what it means to be a true and trusted partner for growth.

For Standard Bank, this starts with investing in client relationships and understanding each business, its challenges and its growth ambitions.

Lagini highlighted three areas:

▪️ Deepen relationships with clients through meaningful engagement and a clear understanding of how their businesses operate.
▪️ Take a solutions-driven approach, using those conversations to identify appropriate payment and trade solutions and support businesses as they reach new markets.
▪️ Build trusted relationships through accessible bankers who stay close to clients through different stages of growth.

For the many SMEs exhibiting at the Expo, it was a practical perspective on what a banking relationship should deliver as a business grows.

Thank you, Lagini, for sharing your knowledge and experience with our exhibitors and conference audience.

Proudly sponsored by Standard Bank South Africa.
