mHBOT follow-up π«β¨ (honest review)
So I tried mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy (~1.4 ATA) and wanted to give a proper update:
Sleep: pretty normal π΄
Run: felt the same πββοΈ
Overall: no huge, noticeable difference (yet)
I did feel relaxed after β but alsoβ¦ I was lying still for an hour, so that plays a role.
The reality check:
There are so many factors that affect recovery:
-nutrition π₯
-stress levels π
-sleep π€
-training load πββοΈ
-even just a weekend away/reset
So itβs hard to credit one session of anything as a game-changer.
On the science side:
βοΈ It does increase oxygen availability slightly
β But most strong evidence (like for wound healing) is at higher-pressure medical hyperbaric therapy
β This is more of a wellness tool, not a miracle fix
Quick note on my readings:
SpOβ was 100% before and 98% after β which is completely normal.
Pulse oximeters can vary slightly depending on things like movement, circulation, or even which finger is used, so nothing major to read into there.
My take:
If you enjoy it and it makes you feel good β go for it π€
Placebo or not, feeling better is still valid.
Butβ¦ itβs expensive πΈ
And probably not something Iβd rely on as a primary recovery method.
Bottom line:
Helpful tool? Maybe.
Essential? Probably not.
