Have you ever wondered what is actually happening in your body during a Visceral Manipulation treatment?

Joanne Enslin (Barral Institute Diplomate and international instructor) is hosting a free 40-minute webinar on Thursday 25 June at 5:00 PM, and this one is for both practitioners and patients.

She will be covering the physiology behind the work, what is actually happening to your organs, fascia and nervous system during treatment, and sharing case studies that show how visceral restrictions connect to conditions ranging from chronic back pain to digestive dysfunction, trauma and beyond.

If you have been receiving Visceral Manipulation and want to understand it more deeply / or if you are a practitioner looking to explore whether VM1 and VM2 belong in your postgraduate journey - this is the conversation to join.

Free. Online via Zoom or in person in Cape Town. Thursday 25 June, 5:00–5:40 PM.

Recently, I had the privilege of presenting at the Gastroenterology CPD meeting at Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre on the role of physiotherapy in persistent functional gastrointestinal symptoms.
The presentation focused on two interesting case studies highlighting the distinction between abdomino-phrenic dyssynergia and functional abdominal bloating. We explored treatment approaches incorporating visceral manipulation techniques together with retraining thoraco-abdominal coordination in abdomino-phrenic dyssynergia.
Treatment targeted central sensitisation and visceral hypersensitivity, with both patients demonstrating significant improvement pre- and post-treatment.
It is encouraging to see the growing recognition of the role physiotherapy can play in the management of complex disorders of gut-brain interaction through an integrated approach combining Visceral Manipulation manual therapy, nervous system regulation, and neuromuscular retraining.
