Breastfeeding can feel overwhelming at times, but knowing what’s normal can make all the difference. 💛

In these carousels, I cover:
• Signs your baby is getting enough milk
• What’s normal (and not normal) when it comes to baby poo
• Common breastfeeding challenges like engorgement, sore ni***es, blocked ducts and mastitis
• A few common breastfeeding myths that deserve to be busted!

Remember, breastfeeding shouldn’t be painful, and if you’re ever worried about your baby’s feeding or your own breastfeeding journey, don’t hesitate to reach out to your GP or a lactation consultant.

Save this post for later and share it with a new parent who might need it. 🤱

Part 3: Breastfeeding isn’t always intuitive—for parents or babies.

Many normal newborn behaviours are mistaken for illness, while genuine feeding problems can sometimes be missed. Knowing what is normal (and what isn’t) can make those early weeks much less stressful.

Remember: persistent pain, poor weight gain or feeding difficulties deserve assessment by a healthcare professional or experienced lactation consultant.

Save this post for later and share it with an expecting parent 🤍

National Breastfeeding week runs from the 1st of August to the 7th of August.

Everyday we will be doing a post to cover an important topic around breastfeeding.

We would love your insights, comments or any burning questions you may have around this very important topic. Please leave them in the comments below or feel free to directly message the practice. Any questions not covered through the posts will be directly addressed at the end of the week so be sure to catch each post.

Disclaimer: we known some mothers are not able to breastfeed for many different reasons and this is by no means meant to judge any mother. A fed baby is a happy baby no matter the means.
