👁️ Why do we measure the pressure inside your eyes?

During a comprehensive eye examination, one of the important tests we may perform is tonometry.

Tonometry measures your intraocular pressure (IOP) — the pressure inside your eyes. While you may not feel or notice if your eye pressure is elevated, it can be an important indicator when assessing your eye health.

This quick, comfortable and non-invasive test helps us build a more complete picture of your eyes and can assist in the early detection and ongoing monitoring of conditions such as glaucoma.

💡 Did you know?
Glaucoma is often called the "silent thief of sight" because it can develop without noticeable symptoms in its early stages.

Regular eye examinations are about much more than checking if you need new glasses—they're about protecting your vision for years to come.

👓 Have you been putting off your eye test?

You're not alone. Many people only realise their vision has changed when everyday tasks become a little more difficult.

Whether you're struggling to read road signs, experiencing headaches after long hours on the computer, or simply feel your spectacles aren't giving you the clear vision they used to, an eye examination can make all the difference.

At Eyegame Optometrist, we believe eye care should be personal. We take the time to understand your vision, answer your questions, and help you find the best solution for your lifestyle.

👁️ MYTH MONDAY: Children don’t always know what “clear” is.

“My child isn’t complaining, so their vision must be fine.”

❌ MYTH

Children often assume the way they see is normal — simply because they have nothing else to compare it with.

Sometimes the clues are subtle. You may notice your child squinting, sitting very close to screens, losing their place while reading, avoiding near work, struggling to concentrate or complaining of headaches.

❤️ Don’t wait for them to tell you they can’t see clearly.

Regular eye examinations can help make sure their vision is supporting them as they learn, explore and grow.
