🚧 Construction Has Officially Kicked Off at Palm View Estate! 🚧

A while ago we shared the exciting news that big changes were coming to Palm View Estate and today, we are thrilled to announce that the first phase of construction has kicked off and has been ongoing for +- 3 weeks!

Our contractors started trenching for the underground power cables that will supply electricity to the brand-new units being built in Phase 2B.

⚡ Fun Fact: Nearly 1km of electrical cabling is being installed!
That’s a massive milestone and a sign of the incredible progress happening on-site.

A huge shout-out to the powerhouse team at Thake Electrical, who are working tirelessly behind the scenes. Their commitment to precision and safety — always the number one priority — ensures that every step of this complicated process is handled with excellence.

Things are happening slowly but surely — and today we reached another wonderful milestone! 💫

Our brand-new playground equipment has officially been installed, and it already looks like a little adventure world waiting for happy feet and joyful giggles. The kids are going to LOVE it! 🛝✨

🌿🏃‍♀️ PALM VIEW URBAN TRAIL RUN/WALK – WHAT A DAY! 🏃‍♂️🌤️

What an incredible morning we had at our Palm View Urban Trail Run/Walk! 🎉
A huge thank you to everyone who was part of making this day such a wonderful success — from our amazing organizers, sponsors, and vendors, to every single runner, walker, and supporter who joined in.

Despite the funny weather during the week, we were blessed with the perfect running morning — cool, cloudy, and just right for hitting the trails! 🌥️

We’d like to give a big shoutout to:
🏡 Alley Roads and Palm View Eco Estate - Shakaskraal – for making this event possible and helping to create such a fantastic community atmosphere.
💪 Glen Gore and the Triathlon+ team – for organizing this wonderful community event, laying out and testing the trail before race day, and ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
🚗 VW Ballito Team – thank you for showcasing your stunning cars and handing out awesome goodies to our runners!
🚙 Nissan, Foton, Suzuki, and Chery – for displaying your beautiful and unique vehicles that added excitement and variety to the day.

🌿 Meet the Developer | Spotlight on Ivan Pretorius 🌿

Today, we’re delighted to introduce Ivan Pretorius, Founder and CEO of Alley Roads, who plays a pivotal role in shaping the residential vision and built environment that influence places like Palm View Estate.

👔 Who is Ivan Pretorius?
Ivan is a Civil Engineer by profession, with over 25 years of experience in property development, infrastructure, and the built environment. He founded Alley Roads in 2009, a leading black-owned national developer specializing in affordable residential housing and retail / industrial property. Before that, Ivan held senior roles including Chief Director at the Gauteng Department of Public Works, Roads & Transport, and has also worked as an engineering technologist and project foreman. His academic credentials are robust: BTech degrees in Geotechnical and Structural Engineering, plus Certificates (with distinction) in Project Management and Leadership Development.

✨ Did you know?
His company also pioneered environmentally sustainable housing: setting high green building standards (EDGE Advanced), installing solar power systems, and retrofitting buildings to reduce energy usage.

🍃 Fun Fact:
Ivan once served as part of the planning team for infrastructure and stadia during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Also, he has lectured civil engineering to first- and second-year students — sharing his deep technical experience with future engineers.

💡 What excites him about the future?
Ivan is strongly focused on narrowing the housing gap in South Africa — particularly for lower-to-middle income households. He is committed to producing safe, sustainable, and affordable homes that are close to schools, hospitals, markets — growing Alley Roads’ role as a leader in “build-to-rent” and green building developments.

Ivan leads with vision, integrity, and a commitment to quality — balancing innovation (green building, sustainable development) with practical solutions (affordable housing, energy efficiency). He is known for being strategic, results-driven, and deeply rooted in public service values.

Hannes is a proud husband of 10 years and father of three. Professionally, he brings 14 years of experience in project management and draughting, with a strong background in both residential and retail developments. Having worked closely with architects, engineers, and consultants, Hannes is skilled at taking projects from the first drawings through to final completion.

✨ Did you know?
Alongside his estate management role, Hannes oversees development planning and day-to-day operations, ensuring that Palm View continues to grow in a structured and sustainable way.

Hannes enjoys hands-on DIY projects and spending quality time outdoors with his family on weekends.

Raks is a husband of 11 years, proud father, Market Aggregator, and Director of a Non-Profit Organization. Professionally, he’s the Regional Head of a Logistics company in KZN, where he oversees the operational and sales activities. With over 12 years of management and advisory experience in the tourism, logistics, and business incubation spheres, Raks brings a strong foundation of leadership and strategic thinking to the HOA.

Alongside his HOA role, Raks is our Safety and Security Liaison Officer and an active member of the Sector 1 Community Policing Forum – ensuring that community safety always remains a top priority.
