It is designed to equip you to actually do this work, and to connect you with a community of like-minded professionals who speak the same language.

TOWARDS A REGULATED WORLD — Advanced 2-Day CPD Workshop | 12 & 13 September 2026 | Stellenbosch

The aim of this workshop is twofold.

First, to genuinely equip you. Not with surface-level theory, but with the clinical tools, frameworks, and experiential grounding to actually do this work — in your private practice, your hospital, your school, your NGO. You will leave with a working integration of Polyvagal Theory, neuroscience, ecosystemic psychology, and equine-assisted healing that you can apply on Monday morning.

Second, to build something together. A referral base. A connection group. A community of like-minded professionals across disciplines who share a nervous-system-informed lens and can support, refer to, and learn from one another. Because this work is better and more sustainable when we do not do it alone.

If you have been waiting for advanced clinical training that takes PVT seriously, that works alongside horses as co-therapists rather than props, and that ends on Sunday afternoon with you feeling integrated rather than depleted, this is it.

On Thursday 16 July 2026, Hestie and I had the honour of hosting eight caregivers from Stellenbosch's local community at The Siloah Project.

It was a special day of connection and unfolding healing, as we explored the wisdom of the body - the wisdom that guides us and keeps us alive - learning from the true experts: our horses.

Held in the mist, with Stellenbosch's mountains as our backdrop, warmed by fire and togetherness, this group came ready to learn how to care for themselves, so they can go back out and care for others.

Grateful for these caregivers, for the horses who teach us so much, and for this work we get to do together.

I've been given the honour of returning to co-facilitate the equine therapy experiences at Karoo Ranching - with the wonderful Julie Hobson, her miracle-working herd, and the vast, breathtaking mountains of the Karoo holding it all.
August. September. A handful of spots.

A big thank you to Die Damhuis Restaurant team for showing up with such openness, honesty, and willingness to learn! It was a privilege to spend time together exploring how the nervous system works under pressure and seeing those “aha” moments unfold in the room.

Workplaces are full of pressure, fast decisions, and constant human interaction, which is exactly why understanding the nervous system can make such a powerful difference for teams.

Wings with Roots had the incredible privilege of delivering our first corporate workshop yesterday - with the executive team of Die Damhuis Restaurant in Melkbosstrand.

What a day.

Damhuis is a business that genuinely cares about its people, and it shows - in how they lead, how they serve, and in the courage their team brought to the room yesterday.

We spent six hours together exploring how stress moves through the body, how it affects capacity, and how to stay steady under pressure - not by pushing through, but by understanding what's actually happening inside your nervous system and learning practical tools to work with it.

Because the way you regulate is the way you lead. And the way you lead is the way your customers feel.

Thank you, Damhuis. Cohort 1. We won't forget this one.
