Strand Sorg Care Dedicated to dignity, care, and connection for elders at our charitable nursing homes in Strand.

Strand Sorg/Care, a South African non-profit organisation, is a programme of BADISA. Badisa is a registered Non-Profit Organisation (NPO 011-891) and a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO 930 006 348), committed to social development through 145 community-based programmes in the Western, Northern and Eastern Cape. www.badisa.org.za
The Elderly Care programmes, such as ours at Strand Sorg/Care, make a

valuable contribution to the quality of life of older persons in terms of the following services:
- Assessment, referral and counselling by social workers.
- Information and awareness campaigns.
- Support to family members.
- Service centres that provide meals, transport, medical support and socialisation to enable older persons to live independently.
- Home-based care.
- Safe, appropriate and affordable residential care or assisted-living accommodation.

Welcome to the Badisa Family 🌱
Badisa is delighted to welcome three new managers to our organisation:
💚 Isabela Barkhuysen – Manager, Strand Sorg/Care (effective 1 April 2026)
💚 Cathrina Boonzaaier – Manager, Emmanuel Tehuis (effective 1 April 2026)
💚 Ankia du Plooy – Manager, Huis Andries Hamman (effective 1 June 2026)

We are excited to have them join our leadership team and look forward to the passion, dedication, and expertise they will bring to their respective programmes.

We wish them every success in their new roles as they continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

This morning on Silver & Gold, Not Old, Theo Rix from Blue Crane Funeral Services was joined by Isabel Barkhuizen (General Manager) and Karin De Gouveia (Administrative Manager) from Strand Care in the studio. 🤍

Representing Huis Pam Brink and Esperanza in Strand, they shared valuable insight into the amenities and services offered, as well as what prospective residents can expect when considering this next chapter.

It was an informative and heartfelt conversation about care, community, and comfortable living.
